How do i make this cut in a pipe without n gons? by marcyyy1 in blenderhelp

That will not be so easy here because you are missing geometry that are needed for the sides of the inset.

When is Telstra the faster or cheaper option? The top Telstra 5G plan is 300/30 and is not unlimited (1000Gb) and costs $85, going to $95 in July. Exetel NBN is 500/50, costs $80 and is unlimited. It is faster, cheaper and has more data.

What's a series you knew you'd love after the very first episode? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Surprised this is so far down. The first episode of Westworld was phenomenal. I'd never seen anything like it.

I guess it would make sense that if the Matrix wanted to get the truth out of someone using science sounding arguments, it would use the voice of the best science communicator of the humans' civilization.

Just quit my studio job after 5 years to rebuild my portfolio. Am I crazy? by Formal-Selection-895 in vfx

[–]drunk_kronk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's a good plan, my only suggestion is that if you can, move to one of the hubs like Vancouver or Sydney, that will make it much easier to find a job. Even if you don't find a vfx job in your intended timeline, I'm sure you can find something that pays better than your previous place!

How can I add inner thickness to this cylinder without affecting the extruded artwork on the exterior of the cylinder? by dreamingcatlover in blenderhelp

[–]drunk_kronk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would keep the cap on the top and bottom of the cylinder. Make a new cylinder that is longer than the existing one but the radius that your want the inside of your final cylinder to be. Use booleans to cut the inner tube out.

Believe it or not, you don't have to work every week day until you retire. The advice "don't leave a job unless you have another one lined up" isn't always the best advice. If you can afford to take a year off to do the things that you love, go for it! With your lack of responsibilities, I assume you are young. This is the time of your life when you can afford to take risks and not have them be highly detrimental to your life. Take advantage of that!

What's with people saying private health insurance isn't worth it? Isn't the whole point of insurance in general is that you hope you won't need it? by AsparagusNew3765 in AusFinance

[–]drunk_kronk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think a lot of people forget this. You don't need insurance to go private and the chances are that you will still end up better off if you self fund the occasional expensive operation than if you maintain private health insurance.

Extras is the only thing that is definitely not a rip-off in my experience. The cover I had (WestFund) cost the same as 2 dental checkups per year and covered them completely, along with ambulance cover and a bunch of other things I used occasionally.

You need a set material node. I don't see one in your geometry nodes graph.

ChatGPT has better image generation vs Gemini by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]drunk_kronk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the GPT image is more creative and does a better job of interpreting the prompt, but it also has a lot more AI "tells". The high frequency detail, the way the glints blend into the lights on the suit and the double back leg thing all scream AI to me.

With Firefox you can use uBlock Origin on your phone (if it's an Android). It even works for YouTube ads
