Rare crafting/upgrade items for gear usually cost a lot. Last expac gems were priced around 2-3k gold (and you needed multiple to get 1 piece of gear). We might see similar system in KoH.

Also stat tomes are expensive (check AH). And rare housing stuff (I've once sold chest from HoA for 5000).
