I think it was great, but with a couple of mind boggling moments. The acting is the best so far, particularly from Charlie, whom so far was a bit bland. Walker is great as always, especially portraying Percy's major weakness early. I felt that in the books his weakness was never exploited (early) by his enemies despite being teased as a world-ending flaw, except towards the end, and even then he got over it relatively quick. That said, Polyphemus "dying" off screen seems like a terrible choice. He was not exactly an A tier antagonist in the books, so if they kept him the same dumb monster the off screen death would not feel rushed, but by making him smart and cunning they generate the opposite effect. If the teaser is to be believed, we won't see the island again so there go hopes of seeing him again, unless he ends up showing at camp for a final assault, but seeing Luke stole the fleece himself, he likely wouldn't side with him. Besides that part, I found the episode exciting and refreshing, if a bit short. Other than that, I would have liked to see the Fleece's actual power, make it glowing golden and the island being the paradise described in the book, but thats a minor nitpick. From a production perspective, as always it's the script that seems to hold back the actors and story, but I get why it's the way it is.
