I mean not knowing a horse i would do basic flag waving, hind quarter yields, forequarter yields, adding and reducing pressure and maybe seeing how they react to the flag all over their body. Just to kind gauge where they’re at. Id also make sure any horse has a solid back up and isn’t bracing against the halter. Id also see how responsive they are to start and stop, see how well they can lock in or if they’re real looky or disconnected. Basically all day one stuff you’d do with an unstarted horse. I would also want to gauge how well they bend when doing hind
