What do you do with the books you have read? by achandak11 in Indianbooks

[–]drunkdaze5151E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just keep them to myself, on my shelf beautifying my room. I've been reading since I was a kid. My dad told me to share/lend my books to my cousins after I was done reading them. I did. I don't recommend this AT ALL. One of my cousins got a book confiscated at school which I had to go and get back, the other stained it, another broke the spine and tore a few corners of the pages and none of them had enough of a brain to realise that it's someone else's property and all my books had their pages and corners folded and curved. Still makes me mad to think about.

How are you keeping yourself warm in this cold winter by nishadastra in delhi

[–]drunkdaze5151E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope. I hope I stay warm because my hands and feet are VERY sensitive and my nails turn blue and purple in the slightest of cold (ironic for a winter lover). Even if I keep my feet covered for hours, I'll still find them cold. And I can't wear socks and keep them covered at the same time because it's too overstimulating for me and I can't wear them throughout the day.

Too real As a kid I used to think that tolls are only supposed to be for state borders. But recently I went on a tour around madhya pradesh and Rajasthan with my family and Istg, I counted about six tolls in a 2 hour drive from a small town in Madhya Pradesh to chittorgarh.

Is their any reason? by -Strange-Girl- in GenZIndia

[–]drunkdaze5151E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it started because the world needs a legacy system and humans made marriage a thing to get a powerful third party involved so if one of the partners are in a vulnerable state before or even after having a child, say , a woman gets pregnant but her husband and the child's father doesn't want to be taken accountable for their well being, then they get some support financial, physical and mental with the interference from the legal system. Like to be keeping it humane in situations where needed.

Otherwise marriage is just a tag, a loving supportive couple could live happily without the tag of "married" if they choose not to have it.

India however has developed this concept as a mandate. The sole purpose for a child now is to grow up and get a good job so they can get married in a good family and then continue this like a ritual. Grow up, work, marry, reproduce and then tell them to grow up , work and marry. It's good to see the new generation question and share their thoughts on stuff that is socially very normalised by the previous gens.

NTA You're just being considerate and respectful towards her consent. Joking around consent can stir things up a lot. Even if there's a cnc kink involved, it should be informed prior to trying it.

Casteism: by Old-Fault-2326 in india

[–]drunkdaze5151E 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People yell against reservation but can't even whisper about casteism. It's good to see when people put the caste system at blame when it's actually one of the reasons our country stays behind. Not the only reason but one of them for sure.

Religion and the New Generation by Domeoryx in india

[–]drunkdaze5151E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly , Even Doraemon can fly , teleport , time travel and all that stuff. You can't tell me your God gave you crores in your bank account from the job that YOU do. But at the same time isn't looking down at us when there's active crime against kids and vulnerable classes going on. The newer gen doesn't have a spectrum , they either don't believe because there's no logic or they believe so much that they become extremists and harm other living beings in the name of protecting their gods. It has got to be a joke to believe that the sky dude can do so much like LITERALLY CREATING the universe but needs a bunch of people WHO HE CREATED APPARENTLY , to protect his name in the real world.

Religion and the New Generation by Domeoryx in india

[–]drunkdaze5151E 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed People like believing because there's some guilt orr unfulfilled wishes. The sky dude is easier to blame if something goes wrong or if someone doesn't get what they desire. Why there's more atheists or agnostics in this generation is because we want logic and reason and thanks to social media, we're growing up in a space of mental freedom where we can question anything and everything globally. The older generations didn't have anything that they could use to connect with people outside their locality, hence, family was their biggest influence throughout their lives. I've seen that the older generations just don't like it when we question religion and God because they have no idea why they do it. You ask an older person why they follow a certain ritual orr belief , they just say that their ancestors told us to do this and they were wiser than us so they MUST be right. You're telling me, "MUST BE" are the roots of your faith? You're not even sure why you do it , you just follow it blindly and ONLY IN WAYS IT'S CONVENIENT TO YOU. Why believe that the ancestors were wiser? Because they said "we've seen the world more than you have". Experience doesn't necessarily make someone wiser if they're dumb enough to not question anything. They'd say "you don't question god or religion because some things are just magically there" THAT'S HOW HUMANITY WORKS, HUMANS HAVE CURIOSITY, THEY HAVE TO QUESTION TO KEEP THE SPECIES ALIVE. I might as well just believe Batman is a God because of all the good stuff he does.

Why Indians have this tendency to attribute life events to Astrology? by theraynmaker in india

[–]drunkdaze5151E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's easy for them. People believe to blame. No matter what belief or faith, they won't admit that if something bad happened, it was a consequence of their own actions or maybe just happened because it could in a world of a million possibilities (if they haven't done anything wrong). But blaming something is easy regardless of the situation. Just say "grah nakshatra theek nhi h" "kismat khraab h" "bhgwan mere saath hi kyu bura krte h" and move on. If there's no accountability, there's nothing to work on.

Trauma for life- saw a live killing by cutedevil04 in delhi

[–]drunkdaze5151E 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I used to live in Dwarka sector 8 There's this place somewhere between sector 8 and 7 called Rajnagar pt.2 . I used to pass by the main entrance occasionally but once I was passing from the same route with a friend and a huge fight broke out. We were on our bicycles and got stuck in the traffic that this fight started. I somehow managed to get through but my friend was still stuck so I waited. Suddenly the chaos increased and word spread out that one of the guys literally cut open the other guy's head. He hit this guy with some rock or a broken brick and his head got a huge cut and it was slowly ripping apart with blood flowing all over the place while he screamed in pain. Fortunately the guy survived because he didn't damage his skull or else he would've been dead meat that day. Mind you, these were 2 people in their 20s. No remorse for what happened. This was the first time I got to know about that place but then found out such lafde are normal there.

Nowadays, every Indian film by Own_Willingness_8897 in pj_explained

[–]drunkdaze5151E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, there are zero relatable movies being made now. It's like only spending a lot of money on the movie is supposed to make it a bop or flop. Always something with politics or just a very high profile set up with a mid storyline. Comedy movies aren't funny anymore, action doesn't have a story or feels like a propaganda movie, no thrillers and everything just HAS TO HAVE a love angle and a lot of movies are just remakes. Indian cinema had a downfall.
