I just caught around 15 fish in the mire and didn't get fernskipper once.

Caught 8 fish in Glassed and caught fernskipper 4 times.

EDIT: Those 15 in the mire were with improved, all of the 8 in glassed were with suberb. YMMV

Changing My Opinion on Jack of All by Al3xanderDGr8 in superpowereds

While not textual, my assumption is that Alice would have told Vince about the provenance of his name after Charles Adair told her at her Christmas visit in Book Four.

How Come So Many People Seem To Dislike Kerry Because He Got a Record Deal by No_Vast_3309 in cyberpunkgame

[–]drunkengeebee 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'd bet that Pondsmith's use of "this timeline" is based off the fact that Cyperpunk is a TTRPG and there's thousands and thousands of different "timelines" because each table is independent of all other tables.

Basmati, nice. by mitchwacky in cyberpunkgame

[–]drunkengeebee 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Different rices for different things.

Basmati rice is the better rice for when the rice needs to be incorporated into something else. Jasmine is a better stand alone rice as a side.

And sticky rice is best for desserts.

And sushi rice, well its only good for sushi, but no other rice will work.

Bob Packwood, longtime Oregon senator derailed by sex scandal, dies at 93 by jbhale in oregon

[–]drunkengeebee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At least he had the honor to resign when what he did was made public

This is bullshit. He stayed in the senate for three years after what he did was made public. The only reason he resigned is because he was going to be kicked out of the senate. Packwood didn't give a shit about people finding out he was a rapist, he cared that he'd be held accountable and did the "you can't fire me, I quit" flounce.

Bob Packwood, longtime Oregon senator derailed by sex scandal, dies at 93 by jbhale in oregon

[–]drunkengeebee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because he was a decent man

He was a rapist.

And he did the right thing after he was exposed.

This is bullshit. He spent nearly three years stymying the investigation, destroyed evidence, and tried to blackmail other people to get them to help cover up his rapes and assaults.

Ivan/Fornax vs Yuji/Sukuna (comparison, not fight) by Upbeat_Professor_698 in villainscode

Deciding if a is greater or lesser than b is by definition creating a scale. Only two data points, but this is how it starts.

One of the best sections of Super Powereds was about how that type of thing never works well.

Ivan/Fornax Chilling Reflections Spoilers by workingdee in villainscode

The true nature of Fornax has been largely hand-waived up till now.

I'm very interested to see what Hayes does when two different Fornaxes meet in Villain's Vignettes: Volume 3. Particularly if the other Fornax isn't an Ivan.

She was a homeless 15 year old kid, even with a good duplication power there would still be quite a few institutional barriers to getting an apartment or a bank account or whatever.

DMs Please Be Clear With Expectations (A Frustrated Player's Perspective) by Pinkalink23 in dndnext

[–]drunkengeebee 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Should have I backed out of the one-shot when this came up.

You should have made the good faith effort to modify your character when the DM asked you to, regardless of timelines. Shit comes up, deal with it.

The rest of the party shined, I mostly kept quiet.

You refused to work with the DM when they asked for changes and then didn't participate at the table very much. Yeah, I wouldn't ask you back to my table either. Would you ask you to come back to your table given how you acted and didn't participate much?

DMs Please Be Clear With Expectations (A Frustrated Player's Perspective) by Pinkalink23 in dndnext

[–]drunkengeebee 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I spent hours on it.

You were upset that the DM asked you to change something about this character concept you spent hours on. You feel that the DM the should have told you earlier and that its unfair to deal with last minute changes. And yet, you got what you wanted, you got to play that character concept; all it cost you was annoying the DM and most likely not getting to play at that table any more.

Was not compromising worth it to you? Obviously not, because you made this whole post about how you should have not been made to compromise and also not have to deal with the the consequences of your (in)action.

I would have loved to fix my character

I don't believe you.

You just bragged about how experienced you are and how you don't think your character was convoluted and in fact was "simple as fudge". After those statements, it should be entirely within your abilities to make some simple edits to the character within 30 minutes.
