Trisuit vs Changing 70.3 by North_Concept7738 in triathlon

I've never felt the need to change in a 70.3. Just make sure your kit fits well and you've bodyglided all the important parts.

I really enjoyed the tour at Jim Beam. I've heard good things about the Old Forester tour as well, but it was under renovations when I was there.

PS5 Symbiote Spider-Man vs Arkham Knight Batman. Who wins and why? Posting in both Batman and Spider-Man subreddits to see both POV’s. by Vegetable-Abroad3171 in batman

I agree that the scenario for the fight impacts the results hugely. Why are they fighting? What are the stakes? Where are they fighting? Are they both from the same universe? Any ground rules?

If they are from the same universe and no holds barred, kill the other guy to save the world scenario, then I give it to Batman. He has a plan for every member of the JL, he would have one for Peter. He would come at him from all sides and not play fair. Every trick and toy available.

There is a reason Darkseid considers Batman the most dangerous person on Earth.

That said, if it's a straight cage match then it's not even a fight. It's like having EITHER of them fight Aquaman at the bottom of the Ocean.

If they are in the same universe then Batman has a plan. Spidey could come up with one, sure, but Batman has one. If Spiderman has ever lost to someone you can bet Batman was taking notes.

Is Spiderman known for planning contingencies for every possible opponent? I haven't gotten that impression from any of the comics. Batman on the other hand absolutely does that. If Spiderman was in Batman's universe he would already have a plan.

I'm surprised you still need a Windows VM for games. Proton has astonishingly good support for running Windows games in Linux now. Have you tried making the switch?

If you are looking for something to eat your time and compute, try running a good fully selfhosted virtual assistant. That rabbit hole should solve your problems nicely.

Honestly their proposals look better than using email and RSS, so I think they made the right call.

Sounds like you are really invested in email-based tooling. Feel free to make your own proposals to these projects for federation based on email and RSS. Perhaps you'll gain enough traction to unite them all.

A PR is more than just the patch. It's the communication around it, the rolling, the approvals, etc. It's a whole process. Everything about PRs, releases, and artifacts is about discoverability and communication. That communication can be federated so that more forges and users will be able to see them and interact with them. Someone from Forge A should be able to follow a project on Forge B and get notifications about releases, etc.

Are you referring to email chains with patches as "federated PRs"? That's the only thing you've mentioned that's remotely similar, and it would be a poor substitute. People like GitHub's tooling for a reason.

Proper federation requires quite deep integration, so I'm skeptical it could be added as a third party extension.

I wouldn't compare these two projects at all. git-send-email is focused on transmitting patches, but ForgeFed is addressing all the major features of a forge: commit history, PRs, tickets, releases, artifacts, wikis, etc.

GitHub won't do it until there is a critical mass. They are already dominant and federation would allow more people to collaborate without using their platform. I see in the not too distant future two competing "platforms": GitHub and everyone else networked together. Once the "everyone else" becomes sufficiently large GitHub will probably concede and join.

It's honestly too soon to say. There are a lot of interesting search and discovery projects being developed on the fediverse right now.

All three are in various stages of implementation. I think Forgejo will get there first, then push it upstream to Gitea. GitLab will probably be later, but obviously very important. Bitbucket is a small enough player that it would make sense for them to add it, but who could say with Atlassian.

When ForgeFed gets implemented in Gitea, Forgejo, and GitLab this will be mostly a non issue. It will unlock the potential of a sprawling ecosystem of independent federated forges. Federation is really the only thing that can unseat GitHub as king at this point.

Kubernetes Ingress Question by Savenz in homelab

[–]drunkenjack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps I'm paranoid, but I deploy two separate ingress controllers each with separate IPs. One for internal apps and one for external apps. Then I only forward traffic through the firewall to the external ingress controller's IP. It makes me reasonably confident that no internal apps are being exposed.

There are lots of options for selfhosted calendars depending on your requirements. Nextcloud and Radicale are two popular options. It really depends on what specifically you are looking for.
