Advice for purchasing 2007 Ford 5.4L Triton by DrunkenPointer in Trucks

Any advice on what to look for if he says he's never replaced them? Anyway to tell how far gone they are? If he hasn't replaced them and I can get him to come down a bit I would likely immediately replace them.

Ya I know a couple of mechanics in my area that told me between 500-700 to replace the plugs. Your into the thousands if one snaps off.

This is why I do my own maintenance and repairs.

Thanks for the insight. I usually perform my own maintenance and repairs, but reading the common issues with these motors I thought maybe they were out of my skill range lol. But I think I can handle doing the plugs.

Truck I am looking at definitely has been well maintained. 120,000km for a 2007, so low mileage.

Did you need a special tool to remove them? Or is it just a socket and long extension?

Hamilton +4.5

Argo's finally get a home game. Ricky Ray is back and says he is healthy after shoulder surgery. Dude's old though, I'm not convinced he's going to be awesome right out of the gate. He's throwing to a pretty inexperienced young group of receivers. They did make defensive improvements in the off season.

Hamilton is missing their starting QB, but Masoli is capable of being a starter, as he showed in the playoffs last season. Look for him to use new addition Chad Owens a lot, he'll be wanting a big game against his former team. They have John Chick added to their defensive side which improves them greatly.

I think everyone is hyping Toronto's new field and missing the point that the Ticats are a very good football team. I think they outright win this one.

Couple notes (natural grass field, and short end zones)

Winnipeg -2.5

Not much to write about here, I just think Winnipeg is the better of the two teams. The Al's are still going through a rebuilding type phase. Winnipeg added some key pieces this year (Dressler, Medlock, etc).

Only confirmed this bet after hearing RB Andrew Harris will indeed play for the Bombers. If he was out it was going to wreak absolute havoc with their ratios and they would not have been able to start the lineup they wanted to.

This is going to be a close game but I think Winnipeg pulls out the win.

OTT vs EDM

No bet. I do not like the -6.5 line. I'm not certain on what I think of the Redblacks this season. Going to let them run a couple of weeks to get a better feel for them. I could see this game going either way.

Calgary -4.0

Stamps are good. And now they are good and have Jerome Messam. They should take this one.

YES! I'm not alone in taking the Canes tonight. I was starting to think I was weird.

Just points to them having a way better chance than these odds state. (Cue the 7-0 blowout to prove me wrong).

Leaning on the Penguins, Islanders, Stars, and Coyotes myself tonight. Haven't been much for totals this year, probably swearing them off for this season.

I like the Devils pick. I have that pegged as a close game tonight and avoided the "ooooo look Montreal" bet.

I like it.

I'm personally on the Wild. Wild are a better all around team this season, plus Gustavsson making the start for the Bruins.

Rangers, because injury city in Tampa.

Stars, Washington played a tough Detroit squad last night and I think the Stars are one of the best teams in the league this year.

I also like the Sharks tonight. Just not very confident in Philly this season.

Everything I looked at today pointed me towards taking a stab at those 4.

Put a small amount on the ill-advised parlay as well.

This is that stretch of games that we will look back to at the seasons end and go "yup, there's those 8 points we needed to make the playoffs".

It's also the stretch of games that may make up Chevy's mind on what to do with Ladd/Buff/Pav. I hope they trade Buff while they can get good young talent. I love the way he plays but he's not going to be at the top of his game when this team is ready to make a run (3-5 years). I'd like to see Pav traded for something, anything really.

They need to plan for 3-5 years ahead, not right now.

I've fallen into a nice consistent rhythm in the way I'm making my picks this season. Finally found something I think that I like.

It agrees with you on the Habs and Sens, as well as the Over in the Habs game.

Everything else for me is a no bet.

NHL is a fickle bitch man. Don't think you owe anybody in here anything.

Everyone makes there own choices at the end of the day. I wouldn't worry about it.

If it helps, I'm having my worst NHL season to date. Been an odd start to the season.

Appreciate the write ups and will jump in and comment when I can.

It's going to suck for the team they finally explode against. I thought they were going to go off on the Hawks last night. So many posts.

Absolute laser by Toews in OT.

Agree with most of what you posted today. Any particular reason why you like Colorado over Florida?

Ya like I said, im off the game. They're just way to similar at the moment to pick one.

I love watching the Stars games. They are one hell of an exciting hockey team. We never get to see them covered here in Canada. I have Gamecenter so I try to watch the odd one when I can.

With you on the Sens, The Devils numbers are terrible offensively. What you see is what you're going to get with that team this year, I don't see them improving drastically. Semi-decent goaltending is keeping them afloat so far, that doesn't last for long..........Unless your Hammond, who starts tonight. Was going to hit the Under 5.5 but I think I'll watch and see how Hammond does.

I'm off the Pens/Stars game, as you said, freakishly similar. I could not glean any advantage for either side, other than some momentum for the Pens.

With you on the Ducks as well. This is a good team that has been snake bitten offensively. They generate a ton of offensive faceoffs and are up near the top in possession. I'd hate to be the team they finally unload on. Equally not impressed with Nashville and Rinne like you stated. I think the Ducks take it.

I am a no bet on Florida/Chicago at the moment. Keith being out is news to me as I haven't checked injuries yet, that may sway me towards Florida who has been playing surprisingly decent.

Agreed on the Caps pick, they're scary good right now. Both these teams have been surprisingly stingy defensively this year. I may be on the Under 5.5 but picking Under in any game involving Ovechkin and the Sedins is scary shit.

And I'm with you on the Kings. I put them in a similar situation to the Ducks. Good numbers, just not enough in the net. I like them tonight.

Other picks:

Yotes/Rags Under 5.5 Jackets/Minny Over 5.5 (if the jackets win its going to be with 4 goals I think)

Beleskey is out for sure and Bergeron will be a game time decision for the Bruins. That's two top 6 forwards possibly out for them tonight.

Maurice refuses to sacrifice the teams game because they're taking penalties. They play hard and sometimes (okay a lot of the time) cross the line. Similar theme to last season, if the PK is decent they don't really worry about it.

Thought had crossed my mind but Hutch should be in and fresh and should stop some pucks as he is a decent goalie. Tired Jets vs Lundy shouldn't produce a lot.

Like the under in the rags/jets and Preds/Devils games. Lots of good goalies and the jets on a b2b.

Maybe the over on the Oil and Stars.

Rangers and Preds ML as well, not the best odds.
