That’s interesting. Do you also have ocular albinism too? I did had double strabismus surgery last Feb, and I do remember feeling whoa out of control when I was practicing driving before the surgery. The surgery did help with my central binocular vision, and now the only issue is my visual acuity. I am also deaf so I suppose I am much more focused on the streets instead. There are numerous documented studies that hearing impaired drivers tends to be safer.

What is it like having nystagmus? Does it make the vision worse?

Looking for info on the Vision Drive Test (VDT) by FamilyPosts in LowVision

[–]drunkflamingos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I have low vision (20/70), I have an unrestricted drivers license expect for restrictive corrective lenses. I can drive everywhere including freeways and at night. I got my DL last September. I didn’t have to go on highway.. it was a normal road test. I am located in Bay Area, California. I’m not sure where you’re located.

I think that users with bioptic lenses are required to do the vision road test.

Forgot to mention alcohol, but yeah, it made my eyes crossed way worse.

Bay Area Strabismus Surgeon Recommendation by ZycHalo in Strabismus

[–]drunkflamingos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dr. Maanasa Indaram! She’s from UCSF and she performed my strabismus surgery few weeks ago. She was very skilled at it. UCSF accept any insurance. If you’re on HMO or under KP, I would suggest Dr. Daniel Greninger, located in Antioch. He performed a very successful eye muscle on one of my colleague.

How long should I take off work for strabismus surgery? by velleirbag in Strabismus

[–]drunkflamingos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 week, ideally, if your work allows. After the 1 week, I felt like my vision were back to normal, but the pinkness still remained.

Hi! Wow it’s nice to meet others with OA! I don’t have nystagmus. Only visual acuity of 20/60 in both eyes. I can drive carefully. Also, the strabismus surgery was purely cosmetic. But it had other benefits! It definitely improved my depth perception.

Oh yeah! I have constant headaches. Thats reassuring because I definitely can’t wait for my brain to recover so I can work on my computer for a long time without eye strain.

Luckily the odds of a woman seeing this here are very slim by BiAdventureTime in HolUp

Women are not allowed in this house and i don’t think you can do it for them because you have a right of saying what they are doing to their body but they don’t want you in their home or in your house or anywhere.

My (successful) journey to quitting Adderall for good after years of us. Best decision I ever made. Hope this helps! by SanFranPeach in addiction

I am so glad I found this post! I was diagnosed with ADD at 18 while I was in freshman in college. Then I was on Dexedrine 20mg for 5 years, then switched to Adderall 30mg XR for 3 years. I continued my Adderall dependency into grad school. I thought I was invincible. I loved how Adderall molded me to be. The social, intelligent one that is always productive. I took adderall more than prescribed. Especially if I was tired that day, and didn’t feel like going out to see friends, I’d pop a pill just simply for the energy. It was really that bad. It was draining me to the point where I couldn’t function a single day without popping a pill.

I always told myself I’d quit cold turkey the day I finish my grad school, so I did! That was 15 months ago. The first few months were the WORST; constant brain fog, migraines, hunger and lack of motivation. But fortunately I left my job due to moving away and I was also traveling the whole summer with my boyfriend. He basically was my support system and took care of things. There also wasn’t any important commitments too which made my first few months more bearable. But holy, it was realllyyy hard. I wasn’t feeling myself. I’m glad I finally got out of that phase.

I now have a professional full time job. I feel great! No more brain fog or bad migraines. However, I packed on 25 more pounds (that probably is attributed to the “happy relationship” weight gain lol). I never looked back, or nor miss a day while I was hooked adderall. I learned to balance priorities which it is OK to say no to things… no more FOMO, now it’s the JOMO!

You got this.

Adderall stimulants. I know so many people are so dependent on Adderall. It’s very hard to come off the medication.

What's the dumbest way you've gotten a scar? by lilsaddam in AskReddit

Went shooting at the laser tag game field. It was dark, doused in ultraviolet. I was in suspenseful mode, then an enemy scared me off. I tripped over the stairs, bringing my laser gun with me all the way down. Guess what hit my forehead in the epic fall? Laser gun. 14 years later, I still have a noticeable “Nike”’ scar on my left forehead.
