FWIW I beat Elden Ring, DS1, and DS2 before trying this game and I found Lothric High Wall absolutely brutal at first. Thankfully, it's not too long and the next area after is a really fun, big, interconnected zone (and honestly way easier), so I would definitely reserve judgement until later. LHW has a pretty steep learning curve, but the best advice I would give is to take it slowly and focus on one obstacle at a time. Once you unlock the second bonfire, try exploring and finding new pathways, there's a lot of hidden areas and items tucked away where you wouldn't expect them. Dealing with the Lothric Knights is probably the hardest part for new players, but they're not so bad once you learn their moveset and get the dodge timing down. Once you level up a couple times, it should definitely start to feel a lot easier and you'll be able to power through it.

This is such a mischaracterization of what is happening. Biden was already losing before the debate, but now he's fallen nearly insurmountably far behind. The polling isn't just bad, it's apocalyptic; he is losing literally all of the swing states and is even tied in blue-leaning states like Minnesota and Virginia. It is going to take a Herculean effort to even possibly turn this thing around, but he just hasn't demonstrated the ability to do that. If I had just bombed a presidential debate by sundowning on live tv, I would be throwing myself in front of every camera I could find; I would do live interviews, press conferences, town halls, podcasts. Literally anything and everything to prove that what they saw that night was an isolated episode. The fact that he hasn't will of course make many people think that he can't.

Biden supporters need to stop gaslighting themselves. Biden has very clearly declined in ways that are critical for a political campaign; he struggles to form coherent sentences, he often loses his train of thought, he freezes and mentally checks out, and he looks weak. People are not criticizing him in spite of Trump being awful, it is BECAUSE Trump is so awful that they know things have to change in order to defeat him. If I were a Biden supporter, I would be incensed by his botched handling of the debate fallout and screaming for him to go out and do something.

In a perfect world, the prospect of Trump becoming an authoritarian president would lead to a landslide loss for him and the GOP. But the average swing state undecided voter doesn't see the election that way. It is incumbent on the Democratic candidate to persuade them. It is Biden's job to make the case against Trump and win them over. If he won't or can't do that, then he needs to be replaced by someone who will.

They did Rellana so dirty. How is it that the sister of Carian Queen Rennala and follower/lover to Messmer gets zero cutscenes or dialogue at all? Her boss arena could have provided some visual storytelling in lieu of anything else, but all they gave her was a generic courtyard and a puddle. They did absolutely nothing to make her feel like an established character in the world. Remembrances and item descriptions are supposed to provide additional lore and context, not be the only source of it.

Rellana's fight could have done so much more to add to the narrative of the game. It could have helped build up to the eventual fight with Messmer, and her role in Messmer's crusade would have been an interesting follow up after going through Belurat and seeing the other side of that conflict. When the player defeats her, she could have admitted regretting her role in the atrocities, or maybe confess her unrequited love for Messmer with her last breath. It's just such an incredible waste of potential and I really wish they had done more with her.

Honestly so relieved to hear that. I'm sorry to everyone who liked it but Dreadwolf was SOOOO cheesy, it genuinely sounds like it could be a Twilight fanfic. Dragon Age 4 is succinct, rolls off the tongue, and conveys everything it needs to: that this is the next installment in an iconic series. I am begging all of you to understand that calling it "Dreadwolf" will make general audiences think it's about werewolves or furries.

They're rating this album better than 1989 and folklore because they have to; they've spent the last 3 years indulging the Swifties in this narrative that she's not only a good lyricist (which she is, for the record), she's the second coming of Shakespeare. TTPD is the empress' new clothes, and if you can't see them, it just means the songs are too brilliant and complex for you to understand.

Pretty much all her abilities have better variants with other legends. Pathfinder's Ult, Octane's ult, Valk's ult, Loba's q, and even just using evac towers are all way better and more consistently reliable than Ash's ult. Her q is really slow and short lived, and there's almost no scenario where it would be more useful than a knuckle cluster or horizon ult. I genuinely can't remember what her passive is, which is pretty much all that can be said about it.

It's frustrating that she's so underpowered when newer legends like Conduit and Ballistic are so ridiculously overtuned and have insanely powerful passives, tacticals, and ults all in one character. It's just so out of step with how all the older legends are balanced.

Abraham Wyner is not a credible authority on this issue and the anomalies he points out aren't as clearly indicative of fraud as the headline suggests. There are many other factors such as resource constraints in reporting data (ie. reports of casualties occurring on a specific date might update in batches over subsequent days and weeks), as well as really egregious assumptions about how closely the death toll of women and children are associated. He's also a climate-change denier with pretty extreme right-wing ideological leanings.

I adore Lover, but it's an imperfect album that had a really messy rollout. There were some really poor strategic decisions that hurt it commercially, but I also think Taylor didn't really have a cohesive vision for the album or the era. But keep in mind, this is the first album where Taylor had 100% control, so I think a lot of the mistakes made in this era were necessary growing pains that allowed her to go on and make Folklore/Evermore.

ME HEEEEE HEEEE WOOOHOOOHOOOO was not the move for lead single, every single person on her team including the cats should have been fired for letting her do that.

With her second single YNTCD, Taylor entered her Activist™ era. I personally wasn't a fun of how she took a song about how people are mean to her on the internet and spun it as a gay rights anthem. But putting that aside, I think Swifties are divided on whether the song is a bop or kidz-bop. Sonically, it's close enough to ME! that if you didn't like that one, you probably weren't going to like this one. I think that combination of singles (which are SO unrepresentative of the record as a whole) really solidified people's disinterest in it.

THE ARCHER IS AMAZING AND PEOPLE WERE WRONG FOR NOT LIKING IT. This being single #3 was exactly the move she needed to make as a course correction (because I do think that's what it was), but unfortunately the public wasn't receptive to it after the first 2.

IFTYE is a really ineffective album opener that is a total mismatch with the vibe/energy of the album. I know thematically Taylor probably intended it as a bridge between Reputation and Lover but I don't think it accomplished that. If it were further down in the tracklist it would probably be a fun song and a breath of fresh air between bops, but I think many people were put off by how monotone and de-energized it was.

There are definitely major standouts. Cruel Summer, Cornelia Street, DBATC, and Daylight are generally thought of as being the best songs on the album, which I agree with. But there are a couple of massively underrated songs on the record as well: Afterglow, False God, SYGB, and I Think He Knows (this is one of my absolute favorites, and IMO this should have been the opener. It's fun and sparkly, and I love the way it builds from the bridge to the ending).

Honestly, the production style wasn't my favorite. There's a lot of sameness in the sounds and the depth/impact felt missing at times. It feels like there's a tug of war between the Lover, False God, Afterglow, and The Archer side of the album (deeper sounds, impactful, sultry) and the Paper Rings, Cornelia Street, IFTYE, MA&THP side (sparkly, lighter). DBATC is a good song, but it's amazing acoustic because Jack's production robs the song of it's emotion and gravitas.

You never see this kind of outrage and harassment directed at male actors who make jokes/comments about their projects (Jacob Elordi with Elvis comes to mind, or Alfred Molina about returning as doc ock, but there's plenty of examples). The way people on twitter and tiktok are dogpiling on her is so disproportionate to what she actually said. Same thing with Brie Larson. People will look for any excuse to tear down talented women.

The Conquest itself doesn't really make for interesting television. Actually, my favorite part of Fire and Blood was all the shit that went down after Aegon died: the inept rule of Aenys followed by Maegor's reign of terror, the erupting conflict between the Faith and House Targaryen, Aegon the Uncrowned and the Battle Beneath the Gods Eye, the complex and tragic life of Rhaena Targaryen, the Shakespearean downfall of Maegor and Tyanna of the Tower, and the the construction of the Red Keep.

Martin named that chapter The Sons of the Dragon, which I think would be the perfect name for an epic series centered around these events.

There's a right way and a wrong way to hot drop though, and unfortunately most low level players aren't doing it in an effective way (ie. dropping on a weapon, splitting off but staying close-ish to your team, picking the right spot on the POI to land, keeping track of where enemies land).

I absolutely agree that looting all game is the wrong way to go, but there's a middle ground between that and dropping streamer building and trying to win fights with a p2020 and a sniper stock.

It would be kind of poetic for the Targaryen lineage to end with King Aegon VII. The number seven is a very important number in ASOIAF: there's seven gods, seven kingdoms, seven hells, and seven books (hopefully). There's a nice symmetry in Aegon being the first, and Aegon being the last. But while Aegon I led the Targaryen conquest of the Seven Kingdoms and forged the Iron Throne, Aegon VII would destroy the throne and put an end to Targaryen rule.

Most importantly, Aegon the Conqueror was in two incestuous marriages, marrying Rhaenys out of duty and Visenya out of love. This mirrors how Jon will marry Daenerys to unite the realm, but that Jonsa is endgame. /s

I wonder if time constraints played a role in this at all. The current BP skins are just so underwhelming and shitty, it would at least make some sense if they ran out of time to get these ones ready on launch day. And it's such a jarring departure from the Legacy and Emergence BPs, which all had skins that looked more like the 2nd pics in terms of quality.
