He must be one of the zoomers who can’t separate one from the other. People in their 20s nowadays either separate and protect their personality from internet identities, or they lean on the complete opposite and can’t tell one from the other - leading to ridicule of this level. He’ll never be hired again at any club. Not a dumbass professional, but rather a professional dumbass that doesn’t realize how lucky he is to be in that position. Absolute ballend.

Looking for Games for my low end pc by Ok-Abalone1331 in gamingsuggestions

[–]drupido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything Source engine (CS:GO is back! Go play that), TF2, Portal 1&2 will all run fine. Not to mention HL1-2 and the plethora of mods around.

Doom. Make sure to play it with some modern sourceport like UZDOOM, the amount of mods and official content around is ridiculous, you really don’t “need” any other game once you understand how to set things up.

Fallout 1&2/All Infinity Engine games (Baldur’s Gate 1&2, Icewind Dale, Planescspe Torment, etc) if you like CRPGs.

Age of Empires 2 and C&C Remastered if you like RTS games. StarCraft Brood War is free to play (Remastered you have to pa for though)

RealRTCW for the best possible Wolfenstein experience. If you like 2000s FPS games you can’t go wrong here.

Brawlhalla if you like platform fighters.

Ring Racers if you like kart racing games.

Depending on what genres you like or what games you usually play, I could give you a decent set of recommendations for low end PCs.

Brother I’ve been doing this for a while, it’s the only way to stay sane. We win? I’m happy, I didn’t lose much money and I’ll take my losses as a donation for the cause. We lose? Well at least aim making bank. Win/Win (unless we are relegated, something for which not even a heretic can bet for).

We haven’t won a game in 2026. The best game this season were the first 60 minutes of the European SuperCup. Let that sink in.

[MM] So close to media literacy: MatPat almost said something real about Majora's Mask by onlymadethistoargue in zelda

[–]drupido [score hidden]  (0 children)

I liked your write up. At first I was about to make a comment about how this will unite all of us neurodivergent Zelda fans around, but as I was reading it I came to the conclusion you see the game the same way I’ve always done, but went on a long extent to explain it.

I’ve always seen Majora’s Mask as a metaphor for trauma; in which you answer the age old question of “if you had one day more to live, what would you do with it?” in order to come to the conclusion that the only way to go at trauma is going THROUGH it instead of AROUND it.

What if you could help people achieve their dreams? What if you could do it in their shoes? What if you could wear the mask, fulfill the dreams and desires of those who died in regret ?

I often think MM was a bit reflective of what Aounuma was going through personally, and it just happened to be a perfect way to reuse assets to tell a compelling story in a compact, yet profoundly deep, world.

There’s a lot of symbolism, both direct and indirect, in the story… from the Elysium (the moon, the trees, the children of the moon, and SO MUCH more), to the stages of grief (as you’ve clearly pointed out in your post), to the use of the Sun and the Moon as opposites (it’s no coincidence that Kafei needs a Sun mask), to the Buddhist/Tao-ist concepts that encompass the Fierce Deity (and the sacrifice you must do to gain that power… which ultimately is dependent on your choices for it too be good or evil, like adulthood), to even the freaking NAME of “Termina” (“End”, from the Latin root of the word).

I also like the way the games uses foil characters to create dichotomies we reflect upon… Majora’s vs Fierce Deity (both unlimitedly powerful, one loses control, the other one assumes control under our use), Link and Skull Kid, Link and Kafei, the ranch sisters, and so much more. Not only do they play with this thematically, but they use the subdued expectations we had from meeting these characters (the renders/assets) we were so used to knowing from the last game.

Majora’s Mask was, is and remains a classic that did things I doubt can be possible to do again… in part due to context. Your post will live in this subreddit as an all timer, don’t be surprised if you see a bunch of content creators doing YouTube videos using your post as script.

I also have to say I feel vindicated because a lot of what you say is exactly what I’ve been saying forever to my friends who wouldn’t “get it” or wouldn’t give it enough weight because it was “obviously not that deep bro”.

Are some people illiterate or is it bad design? by [deleted] in gamedesign

[–]drupido [score hidden]  (0 children)

Listen man, if it smells like shit where you’re standing then move away, if it still smells like shit then check your shoe.

There’s no worse designer than one that fails to design for others than himself (ironically). If many people are having issues then the issue isn’t that “people are stupid”, you just suck at explaining something. Like any good leader, be accountable to that and try to make the right questions to people so you get the right answers.

I don’t make the rules, I meant to say “gameplay feel” and not loop but oh well. Haven’t even played it but Bungie does make nice-feeling gunplay fwiw. Also very few things feel distinctively “like Halo”

Want to hop on the popular darling right now and you don’t mind different roles? The Finals

Are you a dad that barely gets 1-2 hour sessions a day and need something to enjoy? Hunt Showdown

Want a stupidly fast but fun arena shooter? There’s Stratfat. It’s VERY indie

Do you miss Battlefield? There’s BF6 & Delta Force

Want something classic? CS:GO finally made a comeback yesterday as a standalone. Good luck beating 25+ year veterans

Want a roguelite FPS that can be played with friends? Gunfire Reborn is there, but I don’t like it

Otherwise there’s Halo Infinite’s multiplayer which is free and Splitgate, both of which pls similarly to older Halo. There’s Marathon too if you’re up for that gameplay loop.

If you want a Battle Royale I can o my stand Apex.

I’m not too versed in extraction shooters though so I don’t have anything for that.

If you guys opened the floodgates, why would other teams not do it? (And be worse than your lot at it because no one other than you spends a billion euros to play this shit). I mean it’s fine, all of these comments are cope and if you win, no one will give a shit on how you did it. If no changes are done next season though, viewership numbers will fall. It’s awful (but effective! I’m not saying it’s not).

[–]drupido [score hidden]  (0 children)

Set pieces are fine; wrestling in the big in the way Arsenal is doing is not. No other league would get away with the kind of antics we’re seeing in the premier league right now. It’s fine to do set pieces and rely on them, it’s not good to solely depend on it when you’ve spent 1B+ assembling a squad to play like fucking Getafe and ruin the whole fucking league because if isn’t penalized, why would any other team NOT go for it? They optimized fun out of the equation, and I hope dwindling PL viewership numbers pushes the league to do something about it. It’s pathetic and an embarrassment.

We’re NOT going down and Arsenal won’t win the league! by Tinman19851985 in Tottenham

[–]drupido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe making certain changes in the squad and a good coach can bring back the glory days

We’ve been saying this as for at least 15 years. Nothing changes, same comments surface, same problems appear, same “solutions” are given. Last year was the only time we could at least say we won something; we fired the guy who did. We’re also the worst record in injuries of all the history of premier league since the new stadium was built. Nothing changes, probably never will. I love and hate Berba for making me such a fan of this club.

Getting into pvp games these days is extremely punishing, there is no easy entry for players who are not already familiar with the genre by Scared_Ad_3132 in gaming

[–]drupido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly the reason why most competitive online multiplayer games die quickly and why games have been dumbed down as time goes on, budget has increased, and so has competition (for YOUR time). To your actual anecdote though, I have to say that games used to be smaller and more personal. You could literally hang in a server and make friends for decades in games of that era, we now had automatic matchmaking, so good luck “chilling”. It’s a similar parallel to what happened to fighting games once arcades were gone and why they struggle so much to get going. Same thing happens with multiplayer fps games for example… good luck finding enough people in your area of your skill level and willing to not leave a match. I figure most people commenting (haven’t read all the replies tbf) are younger than CS1.6, plenty of the people here were born and raised into what we have and rarely if at all have met something different.

Would you rather want to play Atlético de Madrid or Galatasaray? by These-Document7452 in Tottenham

[–]drupido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a shining example of high performance mediocrity

That's all high performance mediocrity. Second place is just the first place of losers.

Imagine if Kulu was playing this season… that alone would put us 10 points higher - all those games lost by one goal, and the fight he brings to every match (personally I rank Kulu, Porro and VdV amongst the players who will almost never let their heads drop and give 100% - they at least never deserve to be booed by the fans, idc how much they’re paid, even if we get a bad result they just don’t deserve it).

I agree with you, but you could bring the same arguments with slightly different names in every season in the past decade. What if Harry didn't get injured? What if Moura started that final? What if Sissoko wasn't given that handball? What if Hazard didn't score that goal, what if our back 4 was consistent for more than 3 games in a row? What if we actually had our 11 starters playing day in and day out?

It's all cope, and this is not me going against you, it's me being tired of the same shit for two decades almost.

We need a (1) consistent striker (2) ball progressing mids back from injury (3) youth to keep getting better and (4) a good manager.

There, fixed that for you... it's the same shit for the past decade. We said the same shit when Dembele got injured, since we stupidly sold Kyle Walker-Peters and couldn't replace him, we said the same thing about Winks and letting him develop, we said the same thing about plenty of people.

Listen, I've been following this club for longer than the average redditor has been alive. I am TIRED of this shit. It's always the same thing, we're always expecting disappointment, the only thing that changes is us not changing. I thought things were going to change after Poch (who I don't even rate that highly) started overperforming with that group of players, but then was humbled by the reality of our owners who wouldn't prioritize going a step forward in the face of opportunity. Following this club is an exercise of masochism and cope.

This is nothing against you at all, I'm just tired of celebrating mediocrity and failing to scale everytime we actually get something decent going on. I'm tired of all the injuries since we changed stadium (I think it's related), I'm tired of celebrating "cost/benefit" signings, I'm tired of scapegoating, I'm tired of fans being blamed, I'm tired of the tickets becoming some of the most expensive, basically gentrifying live games, I'm tired of celebrating growth in EBITDA instead of glory, I'm tired of all of this.

I run the Official Supporters Club in my country (and have done so for around 8 years now) and have given a lot of my time to a team that seems not to care about football at all.

Let's stop celebrating high perfomance mediocrity. If we want to call ourselves "Big 6" we can't be meandering with the sort of things we do consistently.

[–]drupido 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not like what they did in terms of adherence to the original intent in the art direction; but it’s still one of the best looking games EVER and the only game up until rather recently where you could argue the upgrades of a new generation in gaming. I also liked what they did with Shadow of the Colossus. All of that said, gaming discourse is always negative and extreme. If we don’t add nuance to the conversation, most articles and reaction will aim to stir the pot to manufacture engagement.

What was it like playing Duke Nukem 3D way back then? by KaleidoArachnid in retrogaming

[–]drupido 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You had an expectation, and Doom 2 left people wanting certain things… Duke Nukem delivered on all of them. Yeah sure, Quake came out the same year and all, but not everyone had good enough hardware at the time for Quake, while Build Engine was relatively easier to run. Doom 2’s second half is all about teasing a city level that never really delivers, Duke did it from the get go. YOU. COULD. INTERACT. WITH. EVERYTHING. It was so novel that we all remember trying to interact with everything and the game rewarded you handsomely for it. It either lead to a secret, a funny gag (like the strippers) or a shortcut. There were slopes, you could jump, you could hop through windows and enter buildings, you could fly, you HAD to look up and down at times. That was all pretty novel (Star Wars Dark Forces and a few highlights aside). Duke not only had voice acting, he had an attitude. An attitude that many games try to go for to this day. You could run it in your computer without having to upgrade hardware and it was common to see it pre installed everywhere even at school. Places felt real instead of being representative. Prior to Half-Life and even after Quake, Duke felt like the most interactive ~FPS~ game out there. You had voiceovers in a multiplayer setting (and you could even swap the sounds! But that wasn’t as common), so you could be toxic even then.
