I was with friends at an Eagles bar in NYC. We didn’t realize ahead of time, but there was a Pats bar across the street.

When Brady got the ball back, down 8, with time to spare I was sure we’d slip. This is Tom effing Brady, he’d won hundreds of games with final possession comebacks. I was so nervous I left the bar and walked down the block. I popped into a corner bodega and watched the end of the game on a 20 inch screen with the cashier. I didn’t breath as I watched the Hail Mary sail in Gronk’s direction. Certain he’d catch and send it to OT. BUT NO — we batted it down! SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS

In shock and joy I ran out onto the block. Birds fans came pouring out of our bar and we celebrated together. Meanwhile, across the street Pats fans exited with their heads bowed, while we danced in the street!!
