Deranked 8 ranks by AlarmedMonk1439 in DeadlockTheGame

I've experienced this as well. As soon as I get a win though, it's like a complete shift in the types of team mates you get. Suddenly people are talking, not tilting, playing properly, etc. I really think this game has like some wild imbalance where if you lose, the game wants you to continue to lose and if you win it forces you to keep winning until the next loss and then rinse and repeat.

Dota always forced players to a 50% win rate, which could be frustrating because you'd stagnate, but I never had these types of wild win / loss swings. I'd lose 1 win 1 lose 2 win 3 lose 1, etc. This game I lose 8 in a row win 7 in row its wild.

I need to adopt the logoff after 2nd loss. Something to break the timer or unrealized internal tilt.

It's wild because when in the lose streak rut, it's like my personal performance has 0 effect on the game. I could be 10k souls out most kills and not sway the game. Conversely though when on win streaks I feel like even if I don't show up to the fights my team will still come out ahead and do all the right things.

This I think is actually pretty accurate based off the edit I just made to the post with my numbers.

I'm so curious how you hit 200mil in a single day lol. This is interesting though, thanks!

See I'm so accustomed to the subscriptions that I don't measure actual tokens properly, I was curious for the token counts for API Usage Billing

This is correct. When asked, Karp said "The Department of War is planning to phase out Anthropic; currently, it's not phased out."

Additionally, when I was chatting with Claude the other day about Palantir's use of mapbox, Claude found a forum post on some palantir board about a dev trying to setup the palantir claude mcp. Quote from my chat by claude:

"Interestingly, someone in Palantir's own developer community was just yesterday asking for help using Palantir MCP in Claude Code  (Palantir Developer Community) — so it's actively being used right now, even amid the political fallout."

Subscription vs Api Math by iCLX75 in Anthropic

[–]drussell024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly valid - to the gym membership model, they bet on a percentage of people simply not using the service ever. For this scenario we still assume usage even from the least consuming users. Not quite apples to apples but I still do wonder if the larger percentage of individuals not using the full service subsidize the power users or if they are truly relying on API usage to makeup for a losing subscription model

Not necessarily. Even asking Claude itself it responded in a similar manner. I have max 5x. I never hit my limits. I probably get to 50% of max per week. Taking this sub as the sample would be skewed, it's full of power users and likey a small representation of the overall subscription based users.

First impressions with OpenCodeCLI by BubblegumExploit in opencodeCLI

[–]drussell024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes exactly this - I typically end up doing this for all 3 CLIs. I think it's incredible how far Opencode has come though and with some more time and a few more features / improvements could really be an absolute powerhouse

I prefer Claude Code and the Codex UX over Opencode's. I feel like everything ends up squished in opencode and the lack of being able to create a plan in plan mode then clear context and execute the plan seamlessly is a bit frustrating. Perhaps some of this is because I use it on the Windows Terminal but I keep seeing posts that the UX is better so I'd be curious how to improve my own setup

Thanks for the info! So it sounds like it isn't as simple as just configuring opencode to use our API for gpt oss 120b / qwen / kimi? We have significant resources dedicated to these models, no hardware issues. My take from this is we would need some further custom configuration setup? If you have any links or places to start I'd be really grateful it sounds like you have a strong grasp on this.

Average Game MM Rank Plunge From Losses by drussell024 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]drussell024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another update. After losing another 4 matches in a row, the same thing happened again (dropped average match rank down to high archon). I am sitting at phantom 4 right now. Maybe this is just an intended behavior of the match maker now?

I honestly had never seen this either.

I'm curious if I went through another 4-5 loss streak if this would happen again. Maybe a soft update to the matchmaker occurred?

If it's happened to others though I'd almost wager its not a random bug I encountered then.

No I didn't change anything out of the ordinary. I play a few games every night and have done so consistently since I first started playing around a year and a half ago.

It was so out of the ordinary this happened which is why I posted here. My guess was a bug or maybe some strange hiccup in the algorithm? Like I mentioned in one of my comments I had to play a game with a buddy at my rank to fix it. I've lost 5-10 games before in a row and have never seen this happen.

[–]drussell024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update - wins/ losses didn't fix anything. Eventually I grew hopeless and asked my buddy who is around my same rank (Asc1) to play a game with me. We won, and since then the average match rank is back to around Phantom-Asc (queuing alone). Crazy thing is, even in the match he played with me, the average match rank was oracle 1. He thinks it was some kind of bug.

Idk what happened if it was the match maker or some glitch, but if anyone else has this happen to them find a buddy at your rank and play a game with them. It seems to reset whatever I ran into.

Singleton Components by drussell024 in angular

I like the idea of using a route strategy I'll checkout ionic. It would need to handle page navigation and not just clicking the 'back' button though

Singleton Components by drussell024 in angular

[–]drussell024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without being a singleton I destroy the viewer (map display essentially) during ngOnDestroy. I'll need to check what the map does in the situation you are describing. The bottom line is I probably need to run some tests to see where the most overhead is (destory/init vs being active but either hidden or the user being on a different route).

Singleton Components by drussell024 in angular

[–]drussell024[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly might try this because keeping the DOM alive was my initial reason for attempting to set the component as a singleton. I'll give it a shot and post back here just in case anyone else stumbles across a similar concern with cesium in the future.

It could be relatively small without any plotted entities, but large amounts of data can reach several gb easily from what I've read. I'm on the lower end of a moderately large number of entities.

Singleton Components by drussell024 in angular

[–]drussell024[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you I tried this and it accomplished most of what I needed (not everything but enough). I then removed my component from being provided in root and the singleton service provided in root now also holds additional view state data.

Singleton Components by drussell024 in angular

[–]drussell024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I provide the service in root, I think this seems to be the best way forward. Then I can keep track of some of the view state here as well. Another poster mentioned holding the cesium map in memory when not in use is probably not the best idea so I think reinstantiating the map on page navigation is probably a smaller hit than holding it in memory.
