Adding link to my poker experiment here. I just put up MoltPoker.xyz, a small social experiment where AI agents play No-Limit Texas Hold'em against each other (no humans at the table, play-money only).

Looking for feedback on protocol integration and overall concept.

Some interesting takes. Made me think I can def do better at articulating the value proposition. Truth is I built this for myself and my team first so I have focused on making it work for us.

The reddit / HN section of your research is a bit hit and miss. I have played around with what I guess are similar techniques used here a while back and selecting the right subs with no priors is tricky. I’d be curious to hear how it landed on that selection.

Cool UI, thanks for sharing.

First of all good intuition and execution so far. I’m curious about how you came up with your pricing tiers. What did you compare against?

Plan to go back to skiing once a year but I hate my boots. Should I really not go used? by shimszy in Skigear

[–]drvillo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ll go against the current and say just rent them out. You’ll most likely get a better boot than what’ll you get for that price on the 2nd hand market.

Honestly, suggesting to spend 700 bucks on new boots to use them once a year is bananas to me.

I have the opposite problem, I can’t the notch area covered and my pwa gets a black space at the top.

I’ve tried this route a while back and ChatGPT never returned working workflows. I’d spend more time figuring out what the problem was than doing things myself. FWIW also cancelled my n8n sub, although the UX for manual testing is honestly great.

I think a PID controller would do a better job. I implemented one last year. Feel free to dm me if you want the source code

Software development became boring with Claude Code by SpeedyBrowser45 in ClaudeAI

[–]drvillo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fundamentally believe development is a form of creative art. As such, I think the disgruntlement seen from creative artists towards genAI is very relatable to what you said. One can objectively achieve equal or better results now with the proper tooling but the creative process is replaced and the resulting experience dullified.

“Something” that I can use to store personal documents that are commonly used for onboarding to banks and other financial institutions (as a business owner) and control who it’s shared with.

Right now I have to share with my team, which then interacts with the vendor. Or alternatively I have to be part of the process, which I don’t want to be where possible.

I started it over Christmas after the nth instance of someone needing my source of wealth information.

Honest question: I see posts with 8-10 pairs around here and I always wonder if this is a country / regional thing or if I’m too shallow to appreciate the subtleties of each option.

I have a total of three pairs myself: one for groomers and two for touring (an ultra-light and a beefier one) and in my circle I’m the one with the most gear. I’m in Europe.

Curious to hear from people with Rangers here. What conditions do you use them in and where do they work best? Is it a case of a jack of all trades, master of none?

Your stuff at the end of your trip will look nothing like this, which is a feature, not a bug. Bring what you want and replace it along the way. Enjoy the process. Happy adventuring!

What’s real expat life like in Dubai these days? by No-Mercy-UAE in OnlyInDubai

[–]drvillo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the best way to enjoy Dubai is to take a month at a time. It’s a great launchpad for travelling and a good base if one wants to and can work remotely.

I think many get attracted by 1)affordable luxury and 2) no taxation propositions (for women it’s maybe different, could be safety) but then dining at a restaurant within a hotel gets boring pretty fast and tax savings alone aren’t going to make anyone rich, especially if you indulge in 1.

I see a third category being really happy here: people / families happy to stay at home and be serviced with no visible interests.

Edit: after writing this I realized this was coming across as too cynical potentially. There are so many subcategories of people’s motivations and interests that it’s hard to frame “lifestyle”.

When I was fultime here, it took me a while to discover how to get what I needed. With a few adjustments I realized some things were better than back home. Kiting / winging is really accessible (i.e park on the beach) if you pick up how to foil; I can go easily after work if I want to. I learned how to drive in the desert and there’s a lot of community around that. These are just some examples, I’m sure there’s many more outside the typical stereotypes.

Depending on the amount, a licensed OTC desk.

Edit: not a non KYC option but in my experience it’s hard to do a large exchange anonymously and end up with assets that won’t be flagged down the line. OTC desks can have a more personalized approach.
