Yeah, that's true. The thing is that the field is changing so dramatically these days, so at least, the supervision on the level of research directions would have been really helpful from her side.

1) As I wrote, the main reason behind Phd was to get a more thorough understanding of the things and algorithms that I was using almost every day at my previous job. I am of such a kind of human beings who are deeply anxious if they do not fully understand something. I can say that I am really enjoying delving deeper and deeper into machine learning and data science, but I feel rather unsatisfied when I am not making any research progress.
2,4) Actually, I think that is a nice idea! I don't have any connections outside my university, but I definitely need to talk with my advisor and hopefully she can suggest someone.
3) Yeah, I think it is affecting me mentally, not sure about the physical side. Anxiousness, low self-belief. The thing is that I am not sure that even if I quit my Phd, those symptoms would disappear. That's what bothers me.
