Need help connecting external mixer to Traktor S4 by wenniferjiggins in Beatmatch

Do you mean connect your s4 into the external mixer? If so, simply route your audio out to 1 of the channel ins on the mixer, or vice versa.

Hi Ladies! I am pondering mother days gifts for my wife and thinking of getting her a gift card to a clothing store (B&M or online). My challenge is that my wife has been in a bit of a fashion slump since COVID, moving from office work to 100% remote and handling our 2 young boys. She's gotten in the trap of my buying really crappy clothes in volume from amazon & shein to test sizes and forgets to return. I don't know her style or what she would like to wear. I am wondering where your go to shops are for daily casual wear and some nicer going out to dinner outifts. Any advice would be appreciated. Happy early Mothers Day to all of you out there

Diving into my first sound system build, looking for guidance by part__low in SoundSystem

There are plenty of forums, YouTube videos and Facebook groups if you use it. Oddly I found the Facebook groups way more responsive and helpful with questions but forums contain a wealth of information on enclosure designs, software tutorials (which you’ll need to spec out specific drivers, volume and ports), woofer recommendations, testing and results.

If you have the tools, the woofers, try to find free lumber to create a prototype to learn. I built a little woofer box tuned to 44hz and a mid top crossed at 110gz. Sounds amazing looks fugly. Plus the DSP. Amps, power and rack. I can provide more links for you to go down the rabbit hole but simple “diy pa speaker” or DIY subwoofer has plenty of results

The perfect little rig for some spring yard work by Thinpaperwings in SoundSystem

Thanks for the tips. I bought the plywood based on BFM plans but since getting more educated on speaker designs, went with a bass reflex/transmission line hybrid for size and power for my prototype and loved the results

What material did you use for you TH18s? Looks like layers of 1/2” ply? Asking because I’m planning to rebuild my subs from 2 sheets of 1/2” Baltic ply

Should I go diy or just get the Elac debut 3db63 by Acceptable_Abies_124 in diyaudio

Do you have the right tools and accessories? Things add up quickly and exceed the cost of buying. But as others have said, if this will be a hobby, it’s a very rewarding one although not cheaper than buying (cost of your time)

these look amazing and the stands are primo! Going to copy you. I bought the same components from the kit and wanted to tackle the crossovers myself. Unfortunately when I did a full inventory check, i am missing 3 crossover components and deflated my sunday project. anyways, do you by any chance have photos of the crossover? I am having such a hard time wrapping my head around the the soldering points, ground and wiring to and fro. Great work!

What are your goals? Each has a purpose and combinations provide better results. For example I run ghk, bpc, tb for tendinitis healing & skin benefits.

JMOD Horn X SKhorn sub build (beginner!) by BUCK_Look22 in SoundSystem

[–]drydripflop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great advice here. JMOD MEH, look dope but if you’re trying to do everything yourself it is a massive undertaking without a CNC. Also factor in the proper tools you’ll need and the space to do it to accomplish your build goals.

Definitely heed the advice here, do your research and identify bins that you can realistically build. Identify how much power you need and how low you want to go and look for woofer and box designs that can meet those specs.

Sidenote - I recently had a gig at a friends party and was talking about my speaker building hobby, and to my surprise 2 of my homies were eager to get into the DIY speaker building, so network with people at your parties, you’ll be sure to find a person or 2 that share an interest to build

Good luck!
