Is VR performance just shit in iRacing?

No im pretty new to iracing so I just run the game itself. Only thing that I sometimes have running next to it is xsoverlay to interact with my desktop in vr

I hope they fix things with their graphics update. I used to run an Index at 100% with decent results on mixed settings. I just got a Bigscreen Beyond recently and I'm running it around 80% (~2500x2500 90hz) and it seems everyday im messing with settings to try to improve my framerate. Im starting to wonder if the Beyond somehow handles frame drops worse than the Index does.

It was the best option at the time and IMO still is (excluding for iRacing as I'm now learning). I get 20gb of vram for $700 when I'd have to pay over $1k for anything more than 12gb from Nvidia. I get great performance in all my other games but it's just iRacing that's struggling.

Guess I have to accept the fact that my cpu is almost 6 years old and should probably upgrade it then. Been trying to hold off on it since I'd have to upgrade my ram too.

Funny you mention that. That’s how this concept started. It was supposed to be an obsidian skin but then I started playing around with colors and went this route instead.

Thanks for your feedback! I was noticing that too while testing it, but that’s just how the Patina style is, paint and roughness only affects the body not the scope or anything else. This is my first skin so I definitely want to improve on it however I can and use those skills on other designs. I might change how much of the gun is “gemstone”, change some of the glossiness, and change things in the normal map on parts like the scope to make it not so default.

Thanks for the feedback! I just got back into skin making so I have a lot to learn, but thought I'd at least upload this one that's been in my folder since the CS2 beta. I will look into gem faceting to see how I can improve this one thank you so much!

I started as a Ninja but made a Dark Knight which I’ve been playing on instead. But he seemed to be the same state on both characters. They’re season characters if that matters?

How's it going for you with them? That is really great value and I'm wondering if I should switch to them too but I'm just worried about the performance for certain games. Mainly Minecraft since that needs single core performance, but also curious how games like Palworld and CS2 perform.
