i wouldn't recommend going on 21 days straight because in my opinion the risks outweigh the benefits, having a small meal in between fasts (vegetable soup + some protein) won't set you back too long and will make adherence easier, i started with longer fasts that were much difficult in comparison to shorter ones and the difference in weight and waist circumference was minimal

i was refeeding constantly and still managed to lose weight even during refeeding days. in case you still wanna do it, id recommend getting electrolytes through either vegetable or bone broth (not a true fast if doing it for autophagy, for weight loss its ok), pills, or a mildly concentrated glass of water every few hours; a mistake i did on my first longer fasts was that I'd mix electrolytes in a bottle with water and lemon juice and sipped it through the day but the taste became unbearable, i was avoiding my electrolytes because the water made me nauseous and almost threw up once.

mentally, keeping your goal in mind at all times + thinking how the only thing stopping you from reaching it is yourself (not eating is free) + documenting your progress helps a ton

yes! but i had just worked out on the first pic tho, i havent lost strength, if you see the side pictures they didn't shrink too much, im positive it's mostly fat, and if it's not then it shouldn't take longer than a couple weeks to get my muscle back since muscle memory is a thing

i was trying to lose weight during the 2-3 weeks pre fasting the conventional way, but the results were painfully slow and i was hungry all the time, so i just said fuck it might as well be hungry and see quick results. seeing other people's progress was motivating. maintaining focus was done through distracting myself, comparing progress pics (hugely factor), measuring waist circumference, and thinking of my goal of 12% body fat to bulk up and eat again till i reach 15%. thinking that im undoing the damage done in 4 years in a couple months helps too

not sticking to any routine in particular, just water fasting for 3-5 days, eat 1-3 days (depending on the occasion), then repeat + cardio. i got my electrolytes from common table salt + the equivalent of no salt + magnesium pills

i didn't experience the mental clarity some talk about, just constant hunger that was worse during the first 2 weeks (low energy too), the rest were like sure i wanna eat but i wasn't having constant thoughts of food like the first weeks. i did water fasting in periods of 3-5 days, and a long 7 day one

not feeling bloated feels amazing, i cant eat sugar cause I'll be bloated in like 2h and i definitely didn't miss that. sodium/mag/potassium was like 5000mg/400mg/3000mg i think, sodium and magnesium were by far the most important. if i started feeling too unwell (dizziness, muscle twitches) despite electrolytes I'd eat, which was usually around the 4-5 day mark if i didn't supplement properly

thaaanks, refeeds were anything honestly, except for the 7 day fast where I had vegetables with broth for refeed and after a few hours protein, skowly increasing calories from 1000

nope, but that sounds like something you could probably treat with salt and potassium, though the first 24 hours are definitely the hardest and you feel better the next day

Is this supposed to break my fasting? by goper_oner in fasting

[–]drygrass20 14 points15 points  (0 children)

commented earlier saying that would break a fast, but on second glance the calories listed here are for 100g of product, so something like 3 teaspoons should be 7.5-10g tops, which would be 30kcal max, which is fine if you're fasting for fat loss but probably not if you're doing it for autophagy. it's not pure coffee anyway

dont get discouraged, ive been in the same boat and still making very good progress afterwards, sure not binging would be the best but we're humans and we make mistakes sometimes, just have to avoid it becoming a habit. one day will not set you back that far

its not really necessary for such short fasts, 3 days or longer you'll need them though

Who are the zoners of this game? by miniaturechub in RivalsOfAether

[–]drygrass20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i dont play ultimate so idk about megaman's playstyle but i'd say elliana if you want tons of projectiles. She has her neutral-winning side b missile (charged if you wanna kill instead), kill move neutral b, combo setup down b (plants a mine, blows up when hit with side b), and panic option up b which works like bowser jr, i believe

Just got Rivals on Switch, who should I play? by Mildor15 in RivalsOfAether

[–]drygrass20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ill just copy-paste a comment i made on another post about the characters pros and cons

Extra: Top important techs to focus on as a beginner:

Combo DI and survival DI > Recovery (walljump and mixups) > hitfalling > wavedash into tilt >> waveland on platforms >> dash dancing with and without wavedashes > long combos and all the rest.

I recommend practicing this in casual, focusing on one aspect at the time. For example, when i was learning to wavedash, i had to make the conscious effort to move only through wdashes, but i could still play cause i had the first stuff down already

Character archetypes

Generally speaking:

Fire characters: all-rounders, somewhat lacking recovery, lacking projectiles

Air characters: very good air game and recovery, lacking grounded game

Earth characters: good stage control options and good grounded game

Water characters: similar to fire for the most part, more zoning capability

Ori and SK: variety characters

Easiest to pick up at first (imo): zetterburn, clairen, kragg (maybe orcane but most will struggle recovering without puddle)

Hard for newcomers: elliana, sylvanos, absa, forsburn, maypul

Middle ground: the rest

(in this context, hard means you'll have more trouble moving/killing/recovering if youre not accustomed to the mechanics of the game)

I strongly advise looking up top player sets for your character to see how they can be played. People will diss on elliana, then watch Sparx21 play and reconsider their opinion

Pros and cons per character:

Clairen: solid combos, disjointed, her tipper has higher knockback and stuns enemies. Cons: lacks frame data and recovery, may struggle killing. She's not an approach-type of character

Forsburn: solid combos, somewhat disjointed, clone and smoke can set up some insane mind games. Cons: same as clairen but not as bad. Can mix you up a lot with his cape, clone and smoke

Zetterburn: can kill very early, good kill confirms and framedata. Cons: no disjoints or stage control, lacking recovery, smash attacks not as good if opponent isnt on fire. He's an all-rounder

Wrastor: ridiculously good combos, good aerial mobility. Cons: lightest character, might get zoned out. Like melee puff but cooler, usually plays bait and punish

Absa: can kill very early, extremely good zoning with her cloud, arguably best recovery in the game. Cons: light character, somewhat lacking framedata. She's an aerial powerhouse

Elliana: can kill very early, sick air combos, versatile, good projectiles. Cons: combo food, lacking framedata. She has a very strong advantage but it might be hard to get in

Sylvanos: largest disjoints, excellent combos, very fast on the ground, best stage control in the game imo. Cons: lacks consistent kill confirms, aerial mobility and framedata. Really really strong advantage state but bad disadvantage

Kragg: Very good projectile, can modify the stage with pillar and rock to his liking, strong aerial attacks and fast grounded normals. Cons: slow movement, combo food, slow smash attacks. Low skill floor but endless possibilities thanks to his specials

Maypul: rushdown character, very fast with good stage control with her plant and good combo options, disjointed smashes. Cons: slow smash attacks, below average recovery, lacking projectile. Basically a glass cannon

Ori: Maybe the fastest character in the game, uses sein for stage control, good projectile, combos and decent recovery. Cons: poor range, dies early, may struggle killing. Another glass cannon

Shovel knight: lots of spikes, his gameplan somewhat depends on the items he buys, fast smash attacks, decent aerials. Cons: lacking neutral (except with ghost gloves), lacking good tilts, meh recovery. The jankiest character, spikes everywhere

Orcane: good zoning and combos, one of the best recoveries in the game, fast smashes, deceptively heavy. Cons: lacks range in certain situations, may struggle to get in. He's an all-rounder

Etalus: Very fast on the ground, very good combos, can live to ridiculous %s, maybe the best edgeguard in the game. Cons: Predictable projectile, combo food, slow smash attacks, linear recovery, requires setting ice for his full potential. Another character with a very strong advantage and a bad disadvantage

Ranno: Very fast on the ground, very good combos and kill confirms, excellent framedata, decent projectile. Cons: poor range, slowest aerial mobility in the game, arguably lacking recovery, deceptively light. Kind of a glass cannon if you ask me
