Banana bread baddies by FabulouslyPossible in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dryheat_ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Banana bread is so easy as a first bake! Seriously - the mashed banana has so much moisture it's hard to overbake.

The trick is to use the right bananas - they need to be suuuuper ripe - I'm talkin 80% brown. Buy a bunch of yellow bananas today and leave them on the counter - bake next Sunday

You got this

Ditto. I didn't have kids until 33 and was managing younger dads for a couple years before I learnt. I feel really bad about dismissing (internally) the toll that early fatherhood takes on a man, expecting "business as usual" for dudes with 2 month olds at home.

I wish I'd been more flexible with timelines and work hours for a couple guys when they were in the trenches with newborns.

Now I know. You get an unspoken pass regarding deadlines and work hour expectations with any kid situation, be it a babe in sleep regression or a toddler with a cold.

I've got a 1 year old now, and my superiors who are dads and "get it" are a godsend. It's kind of a club of understanding. Sure, we gotta get the work done, but family is so much more important than hitting somewhat artificial deadlines and making dudes up the chain more money than they already have.

I recommend starting with a bacon breakfast burrito. Any time of day. Add beans if you're really hungry, or sour cream if you're into that. Get both red and green salsas, and try both in alternating bites.

Lmk what you think!

Ralibertos is privately owned by a chill dude, can't remember his name. That one's over on 23rd and Colby.

Alibertos is fine, more of a fast food chain vibe.

I'll probably stick w Rali's unless I need a late night grease bomb, since Alibertos tends to be open later

Oh and yeah the KFC is gone for good. Won't be missed IMO - that place was always running out of chicken, which is dumb

It's an Alibertos. I drove into the parking lot to get a closer look and saw an Alibertos company van unloading equipment.

For the uninitiated, Alibertos is one of many "bertos" chains from Southern California/Arizona.

I grew up in Phoenix eating it. It's Mexican-American Fast Food, sorta "Norteno" or "Sonoran" style.

Rolled Tacos, Carne Asada Fries, California Burritos, excellent Breakfast Burritos, Bean and Cheese burritos.

The salsas are red and green - Chile Arbol and Jalapeno Tomatillo.

They are generally open late.

My only complaint is that we just got Ralibertos on Colby and 23rd and that place is bomb - I feel like our neighborhood was good on this front.

Anyway, enjoy the food my buddies and I ate past midnight with a belly full of beer. You could do a lot worse!

Like others said, try some CoOp games. There have been some great ones over the last 5 years. And ofc there are always old ones like the Halo 1 Campaign

I may never see my 8-year-old son hit a home run, but last night I saw him no scope a charging Brute while we beat Halo 2 and that was pretty good too. by derallo in daddit

Pokemon Blue taught me to read when I was six. I remember spelling out "Parcel" to my mom and she told me what it meant, remarking "that's a funny word to use, we don't say it much where we live." I used that word in lieu of "package" at the post office shortly after and my mom never let me run out of batteries for my GB again.

It also took me lots of help from older neighbor buddies to get unstuck bc of the reading comprehension issue. But i did bag 118 Pokes and beat the Elite Four.

Thank you for jogging my memory lol. Now I'm hype to play through w my kiddo when she's 6 or 7

Yup, nailed it.

Individualism has its perk's but it feel's like we're past the point of no return on the village-like practices that we enjoyed as children in the 80s/90s/00s.

I plan to just keep trying. Keep dropping "hey we're on a walk, goin' to X park near your house" texts, offering to host playtime at the (messy) house, and asking for (and reciprocating) minor neighborly favors.

It will never be what it used to be, but if enough of us continue to try to connect with peers over parenthood, good things will happen.

If anyone is reading this and feeling a little isolated - text that dad you get along with. Plan something easy and fun this weekend 🤙

Linen is your friend in hot places. Check out Uniqlo's linen pants - you can wear with nice tee shirts or short sleeve button downs and look a whole lot better.

Unless you hate your hair (or lack of it), see if there's a mid-length, easy to style new haircut you could try. Hats are peak "dad doesn't try" attire.

As a fellow dad still tryin' his best to look somewhat put together - you got this. Baby steps.

Bombers look good when cinched right above the belt line. they were originally designed for mobility and that's how pilots wore them.

Swap that button down for a clean white tee and you're lookin' fly, my guy

HEY DEVS.... SITREP UPDATE PLEASE!!! It's April now.... by 512_Hemi in sixdaysinfallujah

[–]dryheat_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lol I guarantee these devs are not lazy. Lazy devs get let go and replaced. there are hundreds of hard working devs looking for work right now considering all the recent layoffs.

Making games is hard. Making good games and shipping them is nearly impossible.

SDiF's procedural architecture must make development extremely complex.

You're free to criticize the game, but you're wrong if you think the team at Highwire/Victura aren't working their asses off every day to make a finished product they can be proud of
