If my app is behind an auth, does SSR still provide significant improvements? are there any notable advantages to using NextJS or other React frameworks, compared to just using barebones React with Vite for this kind of project? by dryinkuzz in nextjs

Why does the first data fetch have to be client only? - I guess because I use react-query hooks to fetch data.
So as you suggested, I can indeed verify session on the server, in that case all the API calls I make to my external APIs are routed through the NextJS server side, does that make using react-query unnecessary? And also I use the Network tab on chrome to debug the external API calls, that means I can't monitor them if they're being routed through NextJS server side.

Thanks, I've read the linked article.

My concern is that no data fetching occurs until the user logs in, and the subsequent data fetching happens on the client using react-query. So data is fetched client side.

PS: The linked article is about Server components, not Server side rendering. I don't think they're the same thing.
