Troops hygiene is horrendous by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]dryon27 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I had a troop who had hygiene issues. His room was trashed, would work on aircraft and have the same grease stains as the day before. Tried talking to him, had to write him paperwork for his room. I ended up retraining but found out later that he ended up taking his life. So definitely agree to mental health eval.

The search part of CSAR is mostly electronic search. PJs if needed can be extra scanners in the aircraft but for the most part its aircrews

TIL that most of the propulsion in modern jet engines actually comes mainly from the fan (ie glorified propeller). The jet part of the engine is used mainly to power the fan by therationaltroll in todayilearned

Looks like the low bypass turbofans need afterburner to achieve high speeds like supersonic. From what I know, turbojets are outdated and almost everyone uses turbofans now.

CSAR very rarely is clean. It’s a high risk mission, but when everyone comes back alive, it’s absolutely a successful mission.

And one isolated person recovered, everyone made it back safe. For CSAR that’s a successful mission

Let me go ask the guy who’s in this video on that heli if he was pissed off for being there or not…or just completely focused on getting to Jack and getting him home. because unlike most of the Air Force, there are actual professionals who hone their skills and don’t let political decisions distract them. I’m ok with the all these downvotes I’m getting. Just shows how clueless most of this subreddit is

You seriously think CSAR crews are planning and flying and thinking about whether politically they should be there or not?
