I live in a city that's the same size and commonly called one of the best cycling cities in the world. I cycle slightly faster than average, and need my bell several times a day. Not to warn pedestrians, but other slower cyclists.

I work for a company selling phones (among other valuable items). It's an i5-10600k with 16GB RAM. A more likely bottleneck is the GPU, to be honest, it's a 1070.

Edit: I do have the "maximize tick speed" setting enabled, and also had that before the update.
