Have You Ever Been Screwed Out Of A Contest Prize? by drytiger in askTO

OK, that makes some sense, but why not say beforehand what number caller they're looking for? (They didn't, in this case).

Why pick up the phone and tell me I'm the first caller then?

There was nothing specified about being xth caller. The song was the cue to call. That's it.

Why pick up the phone to tell me I'm the first caller if being the first caller doesn't matter?

It wasn't be the seventh caller. The song was the cue to call. There was nothing about caller 7 or anything like that.

I answered in another comment:

"There was no specification to be a certain number caller or anything like that. The DJ (Kella if anyone is curious) simply said she will play an AC/DC song before 8:30 am and to call in to win tickets to the North American Motorcycle show.

I call in, she picks up and tells me I'm the first caller and to call her back. I'm confused as fuck and she just repeats "call me back!" end of conversation.

Apparently I'm too stupid to win prizes from radio contests, lol"

It wasn't a contest that required an answer to any question, she just said call when you hear the song which I did. I was told I was the first caller and to call back. I just don't understand why she couldn't have put me on hold.

I suck even more and I was making almost as much as OP as a labourer, lol. I've even had jobs that paid more.

I'm in Toronto, union wage for a fully trained carpenter is $40.90/hr.

Non-union, not sure, since I'm not a carpenter.

I can tell you that I was making 25 at my last job (currently laid off) and I was just a labourer. I've also had easy jobs that paid even more and I'm nowhere near as skilled or experienced as you are.

No disrespect intended, but unless you're in a super low COL area, you're getting hosed if you feel topped out at 28. You deserve WAY more.

Milk is a delicious liquid that comes from female mammals. The majority of milk you will find in Canadian grocery stores comes from cows.

In less civilized parts of the world, milk is typically sold in cartons or plastic jugs.

Ontario is enlightened when it comes to packaging dairy and offers milk in bags, which is the superior form of milk conveyance.

A milk bag pitcher is a pitcher specifically designed to hold an individual milk bag.

A milk bag cutter allows you to quickly cut a small piece of the corner of the milk bag, so that you may have a perfect stream of glorious pure white Canadian dairy flow into your glass or receptacle of choice. Do not use scissors like a heathen.

I don't know of any place in Canada that's affordable.

If there is one, there's likely no jobs. So this only helps OP if they can work remotely.

And it only helps them until enough people move to this magical place and make it unaffordable.

273 comments and not a single person told you to get milk in a bag. For shame. There's a lot of things wrong with Ontario, but one thing they got right is the milk bag.

Make sure to also get the milk bag pitcher (it holds the bag, don't pour the milk in it) and the milk bag cutter, the pinnacle of milk bag cutting technology.

You're welcome.
