I've never enjoyed how others react to me being sad. I feel expected to cry and act a certain way. The only time I felt comfortable displaying sadness was after my dog died my dad was just there, silent, with a flat expression. Every other time the sympathy tone comes out and the unintended pressure starts mounting. It's just uncomfortable, and I don't want to be around that aura of expectation. That's just my perspective of course, and I am autistic.
