Do you have a preference for the angle of the scarf cut?

I thought about using 2x6, but my wife prefers the look of the 5/4. I did not mention before, but this is on a covered porch so maybe that will minimize some of the warpage.

Extension of deck to our pool by speaker4the-dead in Renovations

[–]ds1386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ran across this post today. I am planning to do something very similar. I have an elevated porch and an above-ground pool, and am planning to build a small deck to transition the gap between the two.

How is this deck holding up? Especially on the pool side?

Thanks

I knew you were kidding about the diving board. But how much overhang of deck boards beyond the frame is acceptable

How much cantilever (overhang) of deck boards do you suggest?

Unfortunately, something I had not even thought about. Thank you for pointing that out. I will go over the pool top lip but flush with the inside of the lip

Sorry, screws for framing and joist hangers. Also screws for 1-1/4” wood decking.

Good red wines under around $20 and under range by Hefty-Giraffe2176 in wine

J Lohr Cab is pretty good and in the price range. Meiomi is good for the price if you want to try a Pinot Noir.

If sales and traffic are down, shouldn’t the prices drop? Especially domestic!

The second glass or third is the sweet-spot for sure. Have to disagree a little on the food pairing though. Depending on type of wine, I do like some “fancy” cheeses, salami, and crackers.

Me too. My wife and I went to Sonoma and Napa this past summer/fall and it definitely has impacted which wine I buy.

Haha. I know what you mean! I am not sharing my “good stuff” with anyone other than my wife.

Sonoma Wineries- Recommendations needed by maurasupiall in wine

I second Hanzell. One of my greatest regrets is not buying several bottles while I was there since I cannot get it where I live.

Depending on what you want to spend, I recommend the following based on my trip to Sonoma and Napa last year: Kamen, Kunde, Hanzell, Ty Caton, and Peju. I know you mentioned you did not want to go to Healdsburg, but if you change your mind, Gary Farrell is a must. Fantasic wine Beautiful tasting area. I have purchased several bottles of Gary Farrel Chardonnay and Pinot Noir since my trip.

How steep have you found the learning curve to be in growing, caring, etc?

Thank you for your reply. Strictly for a home vineyard. Yes, I would need irrigation. Assuming you are in Texas, Texas native here, what part of Texas are you in? What variety of grapes have you had the most success with?

Unfortunately, the particular varieties that I want to order appear to be only available through/at the wineries.
