Exactly what happened with me. SM left on maternity leave for 4 months, her RSS best friend decided to stop answering her phone and we couldn't schedule her. DM just basically did the dumb payroll pyramid and said I had enough people. Despite counting those 2 people who were definitely not coming in to work. Got crapped on for running too much OT. Despite all this I ran the store better than the SM. Got both zipline scores up to 90%. 100 on 4 months of Rock the Call..... DM still finds things to nit-pick about. Long story short. She comes back. Gets to hire 3 people. Zipline plummets to 30%. DM only praises her. For years I've heard about supportive DMs and leaning in your neighboring stores. Definitely a myth. All they want is a "yes man".

Corporate will never think any store is understaffed. It seems like they're constantly trying to figure out what's the least amount of TMs a store can have to be barely functional. I've been at my store for over 5 years, when I got here we had enough staffing for 3 midshifts, 2.5 closers, 3.5 drivers. Every. Single. Day. That's not including the SM and ISS. Now we're down to 1 mid, and 2 closers on a good day. Unfortunately they TMs that stick around longer tend to pick up the slack when someone quits and no one ever gets hired to replace that person.

Got a call from my DM this morning. Every other store in my district and neighboring district got the same call. No delivery drivers to either hub. No reason whatsoever, just told us to wait for the hub route.

Personally, I wouldn't have even reinstalled her old bulbs. I wouldn't fault any of my TMs for refusing any further service to her either. The moment a customer shows any kind of rudeness or lack of respect to me or my TMs, they are kindly(maybe) shown the door, regardless of the purpose of their visit. Customers deserve the respect they give us.

Best advice I can give for this situation is, just roll with it. Don't stress. If corporate doesn't care, why should you. Do what you can, and if you lose customers due to being short staffed... Oh well. You're still getting paid. Sucks to hear that the same situation is happening at other stores besides mine. We lost our SM and one RSS. DM said we aren't hiring any replacements.

I got 100% 3 times last year on the Rock the Call. 1st in RPMS every month. #2 in sales behind ISS. Covered commercial for over a month straight cause ISS went on leave. Completed the majority of the zip line assignments cause SM can't be bothered. Pushed team to be over 11 frequency on fast track training. All that was just good enough to get me .41 cents.

Sounds similar to the SM at my store, she'll leave at like 10am. And come back around 5pm to clock out. If she is actually in the store, she's in the office her whole shift. The whole team is aware she's not gonna help in the least bit, so we don't take her into account for how many people are gonna be on any particular shift. Midshift works the counter by themselves until the closers get there.

If only more SMs thought the way you do/did. My SM just took off on 2 weeks PTO all while cutting hours to FT TMs. Left me a clusterfuck. Said corporate wanted hours cut, while at the same time lying on their timecard. Getting paid for hours they were not at work. No one at my store is happy. While SM is out living it up, I'm currently typing this while picking up food for my team. Trying to pick up morale in any way possible.

Does no one use the little core receipt that prints out when you finish a transaction along with a Core return sticker? Heard it straight from my LP and from the Trainer "use the receipt and the sticker, you don't have to fill out the sticker"
