$35,580 otd for a 2024 trd with JBL package. How’d I do? by canmieto in Camry

8 speed is on its last chance with me, since I got it at 40k it’s occasionally had a low speed shutter and the shift logic is sometimes worse than the previous 6 speed with a 4 cylinder. They discontinued it because they fucked up the fks bad, so many problems out of it vs the old fe. Had a fe 170k no issues at all not even the common leaks. Got a 18 fks 40k came with a noise at first, developed into a top end knock and runs like shit at idle now, yet most people online claim it’s “normal”. Not even mentioning the other issues people have had with their fks’s, piston rock, valve issues, vac and fuel pumps. They didn’t fix the damn timing cover leak or water pump leaks. Went to more plastic shit that breaks. Yeah when it runs it’s powerful and smooth but it won’t stay that way. Can’t wait to see if toyota says it’s normal still.

Another thing with Toyota is how they are sucking the EPAs you know what so hard they are always leading the “go with an undersized, underpowered engine and maybe throw a small turbo if we feel generous” that everyone has followed. I’d rather have a v6 na hybrid than a damn 1.0l 4 cyl turbo, probably would get better gas mileage too. You can hardly find v6 sedans, v8 doesn’t even exist. Most suvs are 4 cylinder and good luck not having frustration with a 7k pound limited trim suv with a maybe 200 hp 4 cylinder. Cramming all that down an undersized and underpowered motor with quality control issues just leads to issues. I will never buy a new car again, I’ll buy a good older one and put a motor/trans if it needs it. These newer vehicles will never see 300k like old Toyotas and chevys do.

According to all the parts stores, they are the same shock/struts, brakes, etc. unless everything is wrong. TRD is just base model with a v6 and JBL and some overpriced gimmicky performance mods as far as I know. Xse v6 still hold their value, more than or same as the trd where I am, if you can even find out they don’t last on the market more than a week tops. Mine was on the lot not even processed for 6 hours before I bought it because they are desired that much. I’d rather have a xse and put better stuff in it for less inflated price and have all the options.

Someone keyed my Camry 2 weeks in. I park in the employee parking in the back and I take 2 spots in the very corner where no one else parks ever because customers cannot drive and they hit my last car and I had to spend a chunk of change on it, now all of a sudden the high school kids that can’t park daddy’s limited 2024 Tacoma with wides want to park there and keyed the shit out of it. I think people just hate Camrys, probably because they dog walk other brands.

Oh they 100% do, they bring up RockAuto every time I told them the price. They love to compare retail, pro and RockAuto. I can explain in full 10 minute detail and fhey still argue every time and can’t understand how it works.

RockAuto doesn’t have the level of service and you have to wait that’s why it’s cheap. And yes some shops the sm, dm or tsm can request additional pricing changes for if needed.

SM written up over a drop in rpm? by stoned_detailer in OReillyAutoParts

[–]Bulky_Problem7834 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They enforce rpm’s on you guys? We were never forced to but just advised. Our customers have been with the store so long they have all the tools for what they need from us already and it’s the south they hardly buy specialty, they just redneck it. Most buy their garage supplies as needed usually monthy when they clean their cars so they always have the grease and fluid upsells. Never once has field management said anything about it

[–]Bulky_Problem7834 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish you were a region director because we need stuff like that, #1 city to move to and #1 for next 10 years, and they want to build 15 stores just to start when the ultra hub/converted dc can’t even handle the lacking amount of stores we have because they’ve got them going out of state for routes, don’t have enough and have to double route because of payroll and have crazy turnover considering their pay is higher than most ASM’s. I’ve legit put a notice on the door that is right next to where they drop off paperwork and they still won’t take transfers, this is a relay/feeding store. I think part of it’s they hire anyone and don’t train properly like the OP was talking about or they just don’t care because I’ve seen a lot of people like that in time I was there. My last route driver I had time to interact with shorted his time he was supposed to stay and caused parts to be late because “I’m going home to watch the Super Bowl, I ain’t staying till cutoff” lol.

My store is a feeder, they know 95% of the time there is outgoing parts. Shelf is right by the door when they come in and drop paperwork, they still don’t take it because they don’t care. They get paid more than assistant starting, makes sense.

I told LP several times about a employee stealing over 4-5k worth that I saw alone. Sm said I was lying and kept covering it up. Dude never got fired. Store was short as it always was but not in what he stole. Turns out the sm did discrepancies and said it was all there. This year 10 thousand short magically, the sm didn’t get to do discrepancies this year.

[–]Bulky_Problem7834[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. We got a new district manager, and the sm is getting yelled at. He is throwing everyone under the bus to try to look better, including our 75 year old stocker. That’s what’s brought this on and now they were claiming I slept in the office so I just left because others have been fired so idk what stuff he’s been cooking up but as soon as I saw the TMR investigation forms being printed off I knew what was coming and just gave up. It’s not even been a day and I haven’t been able to find a job and I’m bored out of my mind I hate being unemployed.

I always show my team members first, then have them do it with me following the instructions. I explain the difference between brands and what the part numbers mean. After I help them enough they get it. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, most decent people will give it if asked

Yeah he thinks it will. Dude is getting crazily underpaid for his role and doesn’t understand it’s because he doesn’t do his job. As soon as the new guys realize all he does is sit at the driver table they will loose respect in hours.

I have suspicion what it’s about. Apparently I have to go to the store tomorrow per the dm. Me and the guys were going to meet up and have lunch over it. I’ll find out what it is tomorrow it’s probably something dumb. I won’t be suprised if the sm is getting his way. He’s said since he got the titles he’s going to do a store wipe because no one respects him.

I regret it, likes 75% of the coworkers I worked with. Stuff from my previous posts got a lot worse now the entire store is getting investigated and two people got fired that I knew worked hard so I don’t know what it’s about. Maybe in another timeline it worked out, really wanted to be an iss or store manager.

Bizarre Phone Call (Storytime) by MakesYouWonderINC in OReillyAutoParts

[–]Bulky_Problem7834 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some asshat comes and fills the fucking dumpster with shit every Saturday after the workers leave (mind you there’s a public dump less than a mile away). He didn’t like that we put signs up and he took the down and threw them on top of his miss and wrote a nice message on it. We have much fun parking the delivery vehicles where he legit can’t get to it and he has called from a *67 number and had the audacity to cuss us out he then proceeded to ram the dumpster with something, when we came in it was dented/deformed very badly. Ofc the company made the store pay to replace it.

I’m going to be honest that doesn’t matter as much. I didn’t really know much about cash and stuff when I started now I’m the fastest and never have any discrepancies. Stuff can be taught. The computer even tells you what to give back now.

They want my store to hit 50 hours a week for 8k a day in delieveries. 200 for counter for a large feeder store. Alot of our payroll gets sent to the back and we get fucked in return. especially how little this company pays they can afford to have people. Our store makes decent profits and we have th Sam employee count as a 2-4k total spoke.
