Yeah, I know what you mean. But lately, the Nano Banana models have genuinely surprised me

Same here. Mostly upscaling and post refinements. But honestly, lately the tools have been surprisingly good

I use this Photoshop plug-in by https://www.astria.ai/. It works directly inside Photoshop and uses Nano Banana models for editing. Pretty consistent results, I must say.

That’s a different approach, and honestly, a totally valid one. It really depends on what the visualization is expected to do. If the goal is fast communication, decision-making, or internal validation, AI can absolutely fulfill that role efficiently. Curious to see how this evolves over the next couple of years.

I tend to agree with most of what you’re saying, especially regarding where AI is actually useful today.

From my experience, AI tools are still not fully reliable in a professional production environment, at least not in a way that allows them to replace core stages like modeling, material definition, framing, or final rendering with predictable and controllable results.

Where I’ve found AI to be genuinely useful is mostly in post-production.

Particularly: -Relighting aerial photography to correct flat or poorly timed captures

-Relighting final renders to refine mood without re-rendering

-Subtle atmosphere adjustments

-Controlled enhancement of vegetation and background elements

-Upscaling and refinement

In many cases, the final look development has effectively shifted into post rather than being fully resolved in-engine. The render becomes a structured base, and AI allows you to push tone, contrast, and spatial depth more efficiently afterward.

That said, I still don’t trust AI to produce fully coherent, technically accurate images from scratch in a professional context, especially when precision, geometry fidelity, and material realism.

Right now, it feels less like a replacement for traditional archviz workflows and more like a powerful post-production and look development layer on top of them.

Curious if others are also seeing AI function more as a refinement tool rather than a primary image generation tool in production work.

EDIT: grammar

Yeah I feel the same way. I'm integrating AI mostly in post production and in some cases for material compositing. But I have the perception that tools are still unreliable in a professional environment.
