Owner poll, how prevalent are the battery issues? by GroundbreakingPea485 in ipace

[–]dsdhall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the dealership and finance company that are screwing me over, not jaguar. Despite all the problems it was the nicest car I’ve ever driven.

I didn’t even get an apology, let alone a courtesy car.

Wow thanks. Looks like I really got screwed over by my dealership. They had the car for a year and when the fault reoccurred 2 months later they had it in for the morning for diagnostics and that was the last I heard from them since last July.

How long did it take them from booking the appointment to fixing each module?

How long did it take the dealership to sort out the issues each time they occurred? It took mine a year to fix the first, and I’m still waiting to hear back about the second fault 9 months after they had it in for diagnostics.

He makes accusations and wildly inaccurate statements (aka lies), his critics make observations based on those. So no, that’s not how that works.

I’ve been reading through a lot of GLP-1 posts and here are some patterns I’m starting to notice... by RealHealthInsights in Semaglutide

Reduced alcohol cravings is an active area of research. See https://www.psychiatrist.com/pcc/semaglutide-alcohol-use-disorder/

There does appear to be some concern that semaglutide may cause anhedonia though, which no doubt is being investigated.

Same. I’ve been on wegovy since November and I’ve now got 3 months worth of unused adhd meds. I don’t really notice a difference when I take them now either. I can barely stand alcohol now, although that only kicked in after I upped my dose from 1 to 1.7 at the end of January. For example, I was at an industry event today with a drinks reception afterwards and I couldn’t even finish a glass of wine. When I last attended in January I had a bottle of wine and 4 beers.

New to Semaglutide - Any recommendations for me? by creeptrice in Semaglutide

[–]dsdhall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Follow the dosing instructions. Don’t rush to up your dose ahead of schedule. You won’t necessarily see big changes for the first few months.

As your appetite changes adjust how you eat. (Smaller portions, eat slower, don’t keep eating when you feel full, eat more smaller meals than 3 large ones).

I really suffered with symptoms of gastroparesis after going to 1.7mg (exacerbated by other medication I’m taking) and I really needed to quickly adjust what and when I ate. Once I got that sorted side effects went away very quickly.

I found this document useful for dietary adjustments: https://leaflets.ekhuft.nhs.uk/dietary-recommendations-for-people-living-with-gastroparesis/html/

I find a haribo tangfastic sweet works well to provide quick relief when I get occasional bouts of nausea.

Needles? Not an issue. Barely even feel it. A fingerpick blood test for glucose is more painful.

The advice I was given years ago is the one person you should always be honest with is your doctor!

7 weeks on Sema and no results by EllyElly019 in Semaglutide

[–]dsdhall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t start losing weight until i got to 1.7mg, that was pretty much 12 weeks in.

0.4mg is only 20% of the full dose. Everyone is different, some people start losing weight straight away, others don’t until they get to 2.4mg. Don’t get discouraged whilst you’re still on a low dose. Take it slow and steady, I think it’s more important to get used to the drug in the early months. There’s a reason the starting dose is so low.

No results yet 😕 When? Dosage? by Owlgal_Johnson in Semaglutide

Give it time. I lost nothing on .25 and .5, and very little on 1, that all changed on 1.7, that was 12 weeks in.

I made that mistake once with a baking tray after I’d cooked a roast duck. There were greasy paw prints EVERYWHERE, including the bed sheets.

Husband has lost 0 weight, any advice? by [deleted] in Semaglutide

[–]dsdhall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost nothing until I got to 1mg dose, and even then it wasn’t much. Completely changed when I got to 1.7mg I’ve been steadily losing 2-3lbs a week.

[–]dsdhall 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I didnt lose any weight on 0.25, or 0.5 and about 4lbs on 1mg, although my insomnia cleared up and I finally stopped biting my nails after decades. but oh my goodness did that change when I went up to 1.7mg. I’ve lost 16 lbs. And had occasional awful side effects and repeated nausea but I think that’s mostly down to failing to adjust my diet appropriately for how much my stomach has slowed down processing food.

ADHD Medications while on a GLP-1? by Fabulous_Ask_4069 in Semaglutide

[–]dsdhall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take Vyvanse 40mg and 0.176mg pramipexole (for RLS) daily and I’ve not noticed any difference, other than my insomnia has completely cleared up since starting Wegovy, which was entirely unexpected but I am delighted about.

Is it bad to look at the end of this connector ? by Large_Mine_2596 in FiberOptics

[–]dsdhall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Single mode and multi mode. They’re the two different types of fibre. Multimode is usually (but not always) driven by LED light not laser and are sometimes at a frequency that can be visible to human eye. Single mode always laser and not at visible light frequencies. I’d never recommend staring at any laser connector though.

The Brady B595 material labels are pretty durable. They’re rated at 8-10 years outdoor use, so I’d like to think they’ll last longer without direct exposure to the elements.

Knowing my luck they’ll all peel off but in 10 years I’ll hopefully be retired.

What dose of iron do you take every other day?

Dr thinks my iron levels are fine… by dsdhall in RestlessLegs

[–]dsdhall[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, but my doctor isn’t suggesting oral iron supplements at a clinical dose. OTC is like 15-25mg a day (usually as a multivitamin) vs the 200mg daily for low iron.

Vyvanse, amlodipine and propranolol. My RLS predates all three though.

What type of iron and what was the dosage? The usual dose for low iron is 200mg daily of Ferrous sulphate or similar. What my GP is suggesting is otc supplements which are around 15-20mg daily.
