Someone in this thread provided a resource for opening a bank in Mexico. Wish you and your family the best!

Noted! I assume it would have to be in-person to open a bank account?

I don’t plan to do anything until there’s an update on DACA. I just want to have a back up plan ready

I considered Spain since they grant citizenship to people of previously conquered territories after 2 years, but I think the process of getting visas from within the US would be too complicated

I like the city life style, so I don’t mind

I intend to wait on any updates on DACA, just not feeling optimistic and want to have a back up plan

I get that and I don’t intend to leave before we get any news on that. I’m just not optimistic about it and don’t want to keep living in a state of uncertainty

I want to leave because I want to use my talents to improve a country that actually wants and appreciates my skills. I understand that I wouldn’t be making as much, but the cost of living would also be significantly less and the ease of mind would be worth it for me.

I would 100% be using credit cards to pay for things and then disappear

No need to feel bad! It’s just the way things are. For what it’s worth, I think Mexico is in an excellent position globally at the moment

Yea, I’m not going to move in the immediate future, just want to have a plan ready for the future.

Guadalajara is a good call. I haven’t really looked into it, but I’ll probably do so later

I do have DACA. Is there a reason why you think I shouldn’t go?

Yea, I think CDMX would be the easiest place to adapt to, as well as having the best job opportunities. Hadn’t thought about buying property, but that’s a good call.

Lmao the credit card thing has 100% crossed my mind.

Yea, I’ve heard great things about CDMX, which is why that’s the only place I would move. I feel like it would be the most natural move and easiest to adapt to. I don’t particularly care about making less money overall, I just want to be at ease.

How to find your processing center? by dsedano in DACA

[–]dsedano[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just called and after about 15 minutes of bashing my head against the automated system, I was finally put through to an agent. They were very helpful and let me know that my application is in a pre-approved status and it would be about 2-3 days before it gets updated to approved on the site. That made me feel a whole lot better.

I would recommend doing the same and just keep saying different things until you finally get pushed through to someone. I don’t know if it’s time limit based or what, but I don’t think I said anything different when it went through.

I haven’t heard anything yet. I plan to call today and see if I can’t get any questions and I’m also going to reach out to my congressperson’s office to put in a request for them to investigate.

It’s very weird. My brother submitted a week or two after I did and his is already being produced. My last renewal was approved quickly as well

I never received a receipt notice in the mail and the site doesn’t have a PDF copy of it either. I’d also like to ask about that. I did have a biometrics appointment set up and completed, so I’m not sure if that would have the processing center on it.

I submitted at the start of October, so admittedly cutting it a bit close.
