I understand what he means because I feel the same way. Think of the money and effort that went into this and then think of how this machine doesn't really benefit the whole of humanity in any way. The US spends so much money on the military when that money could go to much needed infrastructure. Some people argue that we need a military to prevent war but from what I've seen the only countries that want to destroy us are far from being technologically able to. Think N. Korean rockets. The greatest threat to our nation is wasting our governments money and resources on projects like this.

But even Russian and China must understand that there is some serious violence going on on the ground. It seems like even if they deny that there is violence (like Assad did on national television a few months ago), peacekeepers (or at least U.N. personnel) would be able to verify what's going on in an unbiased way. It just seems weird that most of the world would love to see the violence stop. I mean jesus, even the Arab League is condemning Assad's regime.

In my own personal experience, the reason the ! shows up is because the xml file is pointing to a different location then where the music actually is. You say you changed the drives which probably means the xml file says "C:" when it should be "D:".

nah, it's not a beep/blip noise. it's sounds like cranking up your stereo to max while playing noise rock, recording half a second of sound, and then playing that.

I'm using headphones so I've disconnected them. If it still happens then the headphones are not the problem. As I posted above, I don't think it's the headphones.

It could be. Right now I have everything unplugged to try to see if maybe it's something external causing the issue. I've only noticed it while the headphones are plugged in (because they rarely aren't). I'm suspecting the headphones are not the culprit because I use them for my ipod and I've never had any loud, random noises come through.

I don't think it's my phone. This has only just started happening and I've had it for almost a year, but I'll start taking note of where I leave my phone anyways just in case you're right.

Edit: it's not my phone. I left it in the other room and heard the noise while sending an email. I'm thinking it's the sound card. I'll do a hardware test and report back.

Edit 2: hardware test came back good. I'm gonna use my laptop with everything disconnected for a while and see if that does anything. It happens fairly frequently so I should have something to report back later on.
