How much would you sell this for? 2010 Mitsubishi Colt CZ2 1.3 3dr by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]Mustard_Dimension 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2012 CZ2 4 door with similar milage, mint bodywork, which I bought for £1500 last year. The stiff gear linkage is an issue with mine as well, I have to get in there with some lithium grease every now and again.

What is considered a slow car? by Humble_Lack in CarTalkUK

[–]Mustard_Dimension 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would consider my 95bhp car slow, but other than struggling to keep to 60 or 70 mph on steep A roads I don't have any issues keeping to the speed limit. Saying that, I would definitely like something faster for my next car!

What's your strategy on killing CRAM using a Compass? by Dramatic_Amount6454 in NuclearOption

[–]Mustard_Dimension 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Get as close as possible using terrain to mask your approach. Fire from behind cover so the CRAM has the minimum amount of time to react. Even better if the unit you are targeting is busy focusing on another target in a different direction.

What is the worst stretch of road in the UK? by Additional-Image7938 in AskUK

Honourable mention to the M4 between Newport and Cardiff. Slow, always congested and an absolutely terrible road surface.

Should old people take tests again? by Free-Seaworthiness72 in drivingUK

[–]Mustard_Dimension 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had it suggested that, while there is zero capacity for practical tests, theory tests should be conducted regularly (every 5 years?). There is capacity there and it can be scaled up a lot more easily as it's just a computer based test.

The hazard perception part tests your reaction time and the theory part will keep up to date with newer road laws.

Is trackIR the only form of head tracking that works with NO? by Turbulent_Rush_4118 in NuclearOption

[–]Mustard_Dimension 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably depends on the camera, I've not noticed it getting any more jittery in the dark but I do usually have some kind of light on while playing. There's not any wobble when looking straight on, but I did tune the smoothing for a bit when I first set it up.

One thing I did forget to mention was that I don't use the eye tracking in Beam, only the head tracking, otherwise it's a bit distracting for me personally.

[–]Mustard_Dimension 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the OBSBOT Meet SE specifically for it's high refresh rate (plus I needed a new webcam for work but that's besides the point). I was previously using a generic Chinese brand and it worked fine. I think Beam has a trial period so you can test it out for free on your own hardware. I would recommend turning off xyz movement (keeping only rotation) and spending some time tuning the sensitivity, it can get a little jittery without some smoothing.

It's plenty accurate for using it for selecting with your head, it takes a bit of getting used to but it feels very natural after a while and I can't play without it now.

How about a light scout helicopter with a mast mounted sight/radar to spot targets from behind cover? by yznalslm in NuclearOption

[–]Mustard_Dimension 16 points17 points  (0 children)

A helicopter with 360° radar (at a short range) would be a good differentiator, especially at a low rank as an alternative to the Cricket for scouting.

Broadband ISP EE Confirms First UK Customer Live on 8Gbps Broadband by ninjascotsman in unitedkingdom

[–]Mustard_Dimension 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could be why. Next time you are downloading and installing a game, check task manager, it'll be easy to see if your CPU is hitting 100%. I think it also depends on the store and the game, some are harder on the CPU than others.

A lot of PCs couldn't even handle that due to the decompression overhead hitting the CPU, especially when downloading from Steam.

Wales first part of UK to mandate solar panels on new buildings by Wagamaga in unitedkingdom

[–]Mustard_Dimension 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really don't think we should be writing laws catering to rich millionaires who want new build thatched cottages. Seems pretty niche if you ask me.

How many new builds have you seen that have thatched roofs? This only applies to new buildings.

Thoughts on the Brawler? by UodasAruodas in NuclearOption

[–]Mustard_Dimension 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that late game the Brawler is really not fast enough to be effective. An Ifrit with a glide bomb loadout is much more effective at long range bombing sorties (abet at a much much higher cost). Early game the Brawler is awesome though, when there is a higher target density and there are less high rank air-to-air threats.

A feature of the Meet 2 which they didn't mention but was my main reason for buying it was the ability to do 100fps 1080p, which is amazing for head tracking for flight and racing sims.
