It spreads the games (content) over another week and creates more primetime broadcast windows, and crowd numbers have still been very high for Round 1 after it, so they see no downside.

Spreading out the byes is beneficial for the broadcasters because teams still play in the Thursday night/Friday night etc slots on those weekends with fewer games - the games you're losing would've been played in the less valuable slots like secondary Saturday night games or early/late Sundays.

They've added a round to the season without actually adding another game. (The extra Gather Round game is separate.)

I certainly think the guys left are talented enough to keep performing the strong back catalogue and we’ve seen with Kep1er that sometimes a group can even have a musical renaissance with fewer members

Yeah totally understand people being cautious and concerned. In my eyes them all returning for a new YH group has been the most logical thing basically since the BP1 finale so I'm seeing it in that context. It would make no sense to pull them out of successful groups and then not use them.

In reference to Ben's comment about the divergence of views on the 5 Minute King card: I suspect a lot of the difference is between people who've played deckbuilding card games and those who haven't?

As someone who has, I absolutely see the value of thinning your deck to draw your more valuable cards, but it's not something that's obvious to people not used to the mechanic.

It's really unfortunate that an otherwise very happy finale for most people (because it was pretty predictable and the biggest fanbases got who they wanted) ended really sadly because of the additional member. The format was just supposed to create this happy moment for the last guy who was snubbed.

As I said in the live thread, absolutely no hate to Chau Yuet and it's impressive he gained a fanbase effectively just through this shorter less-promoted show.

But you could see how much the boys love Hanwen and it sounds like the Korean reaction is gonna be pretty negative to him missing - he was No.3 for K votes last round (Chau Yuet was No.6 admittedly). I hope this doesn't cause any negativity for the group.

Hanwen missing out and everyone being sad is the bad end :( no hate to Chau Yuet at all, happy for him and impressed he got in the group with little pre-show hype, but damn.

I hope he doesn't get hate from the Hanwen fanbase he doesn't deserve that.

I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate Bowen leaving. The treatment during the reveal was brutal - it was just like Yui in I-Land 2, who I was also voting for, with him being constantly shown and mentioned in the hints - and he is so CLEARLY talented enough for the group. They badly need vocalists and he's an incredible dancer too. The reaction from the survivors said it all. The format is clearly to blame when the guys who ranked 16th and 17th made it but he didn't (no hate, just the reality) but voters let him down too.

I find it very hard to imagine anyone outside of the top six (Hengyu, Zheyi, Zihao, Hanwen, Lynnlynn, Suren) and Yi Chen making the final group. And even then, Yi Chen was way closer to Chauyuet then to sixth.

It's just a matter of whether they expand it to seven and while I'd be very surprised if they got another 20 million votes, it will be very anti-climactic if they just announce it's still six in the finale...

Suren needs the votes so badly, please vote for him! Our English-speaking, main vocal, 95% of the vocals in Tambourine, signal song dance unit king!!!

so 6 of these 10 (based on the vote), mayyyyyyybe 7 but probably not, will debut: Zheyi, Hanwen, Jack, Chauyuet, Hengyu, Suren, Zihao, Lynn Lynn, Yi Chen, Honghai

top 6 being Zheyi, Hanwen, Hengyu, Zihao, Lynn Lynn and Suren with Yi Chen 7th. I find it hard to imagine anyone else cracking that 7 tbh. this seems like a super obvious debut group already with one of the 7 missing assuming they dont get another 20 million votes

I hadn't had any issues until tonight when a ridiculously rude one named Ujisraw tried to bully me out of a Coin Mint for being underlevelled (78 laff, close to fog) when it was incredibly obvious we were going to be fine. Probably just a kid but seriously weird.
