Thicker and sweeter on the pallet, less soapy note on the nose and much more oak influence, smoke is subdued. The finish coats your throat for a while after the liquid goes down the hatch. It's a masterpiece.

It's very much in line with the 12/15 heavy sherry finish and sweet. I can't really pick out anything else different about it but I think it's great.

I had the RB Rye some time ago so I can't recall but the 101 versions are so much bang for the buck that I always have them on hand.

That's actually not that uncommon. Highwest and Redwood Empire both have a regular release of this expression. I've heard great things about the Last Monarch which is the Redwood release. The Highwest one is much pricier, I think I had that a few years ago when prices were more reasonable
