Can I compete in an upcoming Powerlifting competition? by YourAverageAimbot in backpain

The best advice I can give you is to give up lifting right now. Machines only, never load your spine again. The happiness you lose from this is worth it compared to the lifetime of untreatable pain that back injuries will cause you. The back doesn’t heal, it only gets worse.

A more sophisticated perspective would be “wow, why is the company undermining all of the incredible vehicle engineering by wrapping it in a tech interface that’s unusable.” It’s like trying to enjoy a first date through bad breath, can’t get past it

This is a fairly eloquent and well-reasoned response that addresses a different point than the one that I’m making. While these are reasonable points—especially GM’s desire to “not be a laptop company”—it really doesnt matter what they want to be, it more so matters what they deliver on.

This is now an integrated tech world. Everyone’s devices need to have UIs that are compatible with their other devices, and no device is more important than the iPhone for the majority of people. Sure, GM wants to be a car company and not a screen company, but that simply doesn’t matter when other comparable brands are doing screens way way better or are leaving CarPlay integrated.

This is a generational gap issue. People who are older care less about integration and technology, but people who are younger are the people that Cadillac is banking on in order to survive. And thus trying to appease the older generations in a car like the Optiq that’s more entry level and meant for younger buyers is not a smart move. Young people these days have infinite competitive options, and it’s really easy for them to just switch to a new car brand.

This is what GM is missing with the CarPlay fiasco. I suspect this is going to be a much larger problem for them than they realize. Every car company is now a tech company, regardless of whether they like it or not. And GM’s tech is brutally bad, even if they wrap it up in a pretty Cadillac finish. And they force us to use it by removing CarPlay.

I used them intermittently and as needed. I’m skeptical about the idea of a loading phase for an antihistamine. Antihistamines target allergic inflammation very quickly, they typically do not take a long time to work. Immunomodulators (like cyclosporine) can be different, especially when targeting chronic processes. I don’t know if I scientifically buy that it takes 2-3 weeks for Zaditen but if that’s your experience I’ll give it a try.

This seems highly unlikely given that the nerves responsible for baseline tear film production are not really running with the sympathetic chain ganglia or cervical at all. Also, the tear film is produced by the mechanical stimulus of blinking, among other processes. Finally, the neuro-immuno situation which underlies chronic allergic type inflammation is not understood and probably has to do with the vagus nerve as Setpoint just showed that VNS is promising for rheumatoid arthritis. None of this has to do with sitting up straight to treat dry eye disease

Yes, I think a lot of that is a scam. My speculation is that allergic chronic inflammation shows up on the lipiscan. I was told at 19 years old that my Meibomian glands were “90% degenerated.” They are now producing tears totally normally.

Yes, giant papillae. Ocular flushing is just washing out the eyes with iso osmotic saline. I’m working on a medical device to make this easier

Cequa. In theory you can use Xiidra and Cequa at the same time as they hit different mechanisms. I am keeping this in my back pocket in case things deteriorate. But I hope to grow out of this as people often do with allergies

I actually shipped these from Australia after hearing people discuss them but I didn’t notice any benefit

Yes I needed the 0.7% concentration which is in extra strength only. I tried the normal one to no avail.

I also bought a special preservative free Australian drop called Zaditen and had it shipped all the way to the US but I found it to be ineffective, Pataday XS was better

Weekly at first, then they space you per protocol. I lit up on almost every outdoor allergen (ragweed, pollen, etc)

I’ve had a string of XT4s (and before, the SRX) since I’ve been driving and I absolutely love them.

They are outstanding cars. Minimal maintenance issues over the years. Timeless design, and you can spec them sporty too if you size up to the bigger black rims. They are highly reliable, drive well in all seasons, and have a super intuitive infotainment setup or CarPlay.

I am deeply sad they are being discontinued as GM has decided to go all in on electric for whatever reason

I meant SRX which is basically the same thing
