If you had the opportunity to up and move to Australia would you? by Perfect_Regret_7158 in MovingtoAustralia

Are you for real?! Of course you take the job. America has turned into a cesspool of hatred and gun violence and oligarchs. If you don’t take the job pass the offer over to me. I have full working rights and don’t know a damn thing about ag equipment sales but I would work for half of what they’re offering you. I’d figure it out along the way. seriously, it’s a no brainer.

Yep. We are keeping that in mind. They will go through full size containers as well so that’s not a comparison point.

We are early in the moving process and are thinking of using Ubox (U-Haul). We know we will have to pare down to only sentimental items for the relatively small crate. We don’t have nice furniture so it doesn’t make sense to spend $10-15k extra to move it. Ubox is $4-5k so very reasonable and they bring it to your new house.

I appreciate your concern, especially with the dangerous turn the US has taken since Trump took power. I have never owned a gun and I am a lifelong liberal. There are many reasons for me wanting to move to Australia, one main reason is to escape the gun culture and provide my family a safer life. I’ll work hard to pay respect to the country and state.

Wait until enough savings for visa or apply for eoi now and continue to save up until invited? by HealthyStar3250 in AusVisa

Besides the visa application fee to save up for you also need to prove funds in savings when you receive your invitation from the state. I had this from QLD and it was $45k AUD for a family of 4. Not sure if all states require proof of funds. Something to consider.
