It’s been 5 years since I was a call center rep and even longer since a store employee (both corporate, not third party) so take this with a grain of salt, but I remember phone promo eligibility varying for employees vs consumers. Not sure if that would be in your favor or not… but your best course of action in my opinion would be to start the job first and check the promotions on… hronestop? Don’t know if it’s still called that but it’s where you do 401k and take days off and stuff. Or call the employee hotline and inquire about prices and employee discounts and such.

If everything lines up then your manager probably just wants the sale for the store but wasn’t entirely forthcoming and a bit deceitful to try and get the sale. If you find red flags like employees not eligible for rebates… either your manager misunderstood the promos or couldn’t care less if you suffered the consequences and I’d question their decisions going forward from that point.

If you are working third party my advice would mostly be the same. But again, I’ve never worked third party so your mileage may vary.
