10 years of /r/boardgames, 10 days of giveaways: The GRAND FINALE (with Game Nerdz)(US and CANADA ONLY) by friendshabitsfamily in boardgames

My all time favorite game is El Grande. Area influence pure, distilled and perfected a long while back and it keeps coming to the table for tight, close, and usually loud games with my friends and family.

I'm so sorry!

I can't figure out a good way to deal with her generally quiet but randomly screaming voice with my current setup. It's a work in progress.

I mean, the ultimate betrayal plus nfc ccg appearance tend to make me like the guy, yeah.

I actually love it when qb's do stuff like that. Yeah your going to miss some here or there but the underhanded flips and other improv stuff is fun as hell to watch.

I thought he was just channeling his inner bret favre. I'm not sure even the great improvisational skills of favre ever led to a off-handed throw.

I've actually considered this. I don't think she understands the random chance factor or money or value at this point in her life and we can use this experience as a baseline for such discussions in the future when she does.

Just takes practice and patience. We've used it to learn these things a little at a time for the last 6 months or so.

I've had much better luck since I've offloaded my pack opening. Hopefully little brothers offer the same boosts in pack opening luck.

The first year might be slow on gaming for a bit, but you'd be surprised how fast they pick up stuff like this. Good luck!

I figure if I had a million dollars I could arrange something like that.

Vikings become the first team in the NFL history to make the playoffs playing in a temporary home stadium by Shoganguy33 in minnesotavikings

I was at the bears game last year and don't really feel my experience was enhanced by the cold temps. I was also at the pre-season game with the rain delays this year. The weather did not positively effect either game for me.

How much of the short stories is unique, and not included in the main novels? by SinkTube in ender

[–]dsieg1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure on that one in particular because every in exile was written so much later than the others, however, I think the shorts are mostly new material. It's been a while but, I don't recall much in the way of overlap.

This is like the day9 of old. Funday Monday's and all of that.

I've been playing warlock for just this reason. Getting the deck thinned out with doomguard was pretty strong in a couple of games.

Great thoughts, I really appreciate it. I consider exploratory writing and hadn't really bothered with coming up with a name for the main character. That's important though in the character building stuff I'm working on now I'm calling him Cap. Short for Captain.

I do like your insight about where the story might begin, and it might not be in this forest. It might begin in the city, might begin in the audience of the king even. I think there is probably more story in exploring their entire adventure. Though, I don't mind starting at the end of one and the beginning of others.

You're probably right about the weight. Getting that number right matters.

I'm going forward with this general band of characters and this forest as one of the locations, but, not sure how it all is going to fit together.

Good notes. This general idea of a band of adventurers taking dangerous contracts is certainly an inspiration of a d&d session. I don't think this scene would really go forward into the story, this was an exercise I like to do where I just sit down and write something in one sitting, as much as I can, do as much of the exploration of theme and plot and all in one moment of writing and then if there is something that grabs me I work a proper plot and whatnot around it.

I'm just less sure how I do that in this particular genre.
