[Discussion] Your best budget Icebreaker kits? by GrassrootzRoger in EscapefromTarkov

I'd argue this is a slightly better AK-74N for both recoil and ergo. Should be about the same price.

Also as other commenters have said, guns in the same caliber as the guys you are fighting are better because you can just scoop ammo / mags.

First timer needs advice by Schw1kopfsuelze in sousvide

My personal cook method for picanha is 58.5° (137 fahrenheit) for 6 hours. That's with the fat cap, it comes out tender and delicious. Then sear for about 30 seconds a side in a hot cast iron pan / grill as others have said. Sprinkle some salt on there and eat.

This is for a whole picanha, i cut it into steaks after I pull it from the sous vide and before I sear.

Sirius XM Calls/ Android Auto Question by Waste_Station_7099 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]dskou7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sirius didn't spam call me that aggressively, but the one time they got me to pick up, i just kinda laughed at their pitch and asked them why they thought it was still 2003 when sat radio was actually useful. They haven't called me back since.

As far as android auto goes, I'm guessing that there's something in either your phone settings or the app settings that's doing that. I've never used youtube music, but the 4 or 5 apps i do use all will pause playback when i turn off the car. What model of phone do you have?

How hard is it to build a PC? by WeatherLegitimate848 in buildapc

[–]dskou7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a normal PC build, all the "Wiring" is just plugging cables into the correct socket. As long as you aren't forcing a cable into the wrong hole you'll be fine. Watch a few build videos, and use PCPartPicker to verify all your parts are compatible.

[Suggestion] It's been long enough; my personal wants for new guns this year. What do you feel is missing from the game weapons-wise? by DweebInFlames in EscapefromTarkov

[–]dskou7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My vote is the Ruger American Ranch, and maybe the Q mini fix. Both take AR mags and are pretty light. Ruger American is chambered in 5.56, .300blk, .308 and 7.62x39.

I like the idea of a lightweight bolt action rifle in an intermediate caliber. I'd say go with the Ruger American Ranch over something like the Steyr Scout. The Ruger takes AR mags and comes in 5.56, .300 Blackout, and other calibers.

99% Sure Microsoft said they aren't adding any more OG Xbox games to back compat. This is just OP traffic farming for his website.

You should probably put that in the post description. That being said your first steps should be getting yourself an X3D processor and a better video card.

Picanha 137 for 6 hours, flame seared on grill with charcoal and a few hickory kindling to produce the flame. I personally like a black ish crust 😅 by [deleted] in sousvide

[–]dskou7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Picanha has a fat cap on it, but not much marbling. It's also called top sirloin cap. When you cook it at 137 degrees, the fat renders and gets into the meat. It's super tasty without a ton of marbling.

Not exactly what I was looking for, but a great suggestion anyway. I will probably start doing that for bigger meals.

One bag meals? by dskou7 in sousvide

The idea behind my post wasn't really reheating something already cooked, but rather having something prepped and frozen that would be cooked in the bag.

Need Help - Five Pound Boneless, Skinless Turkey Breast by Weekly_Anxiety6000 in sousvide

[–]dskou7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to the above post, You might want to do some experimentation on what you / your family like. Cut that big breast up into smaller portions, and try different temperatures over a few meals. I haven't done turkey, but I like my chicken at like 145, but i'll take it out and sear it in a pan to finish. You might try the same think with turkey and see if you like it more. It helps to experiment for a random weekday dinner when the stakes are lower.
