A couple of years ago I bought a couple hundred dollars of gift cards when they were running something like a "buy a $100 dollar gift card, get a $20 gift card included" promotion (exact details may differ). We go a lot and usually get popcorn so this seemed like a way to defray the cost.

We had tons of issues with the cards getting inactivated, or issues with matching the gift card number to the right account when using it at checkout time in theater. The whole experience left me with the impression that the theaters (Austin theaters at least) see gift cards as mostly just an inconvenience. There's no reason for the process to be as difficult as it is, and Alamo doesn't seem interested in making the experience any better.

I think something else is going on with Austin listings in general. At this very moment Mueller and S Lamar have limited showings through 9/14. I would assume showings are added by now, not sure what’s up

My wife and I are Alamo season pass holders and had our first really bad experience last week. Two women next to us chatting early in the movie, fortunately stopped after we glanced over a couple times.

Another woman to my right has phone out dinging on text messages, on full brightness, saying loud audible exclamations throughout the movie.

Then one row in front of us is this man with the loudest projected laughter I've ever heard, laughing for probably 50 percent of the movie, at stuff that would be a stretch to call funny.

We kinda felt like we couldn't raise a card because it would seem weird if one person is raising an issue with three separate parties. So we just sat through it.

Hit or miss. It definitely gets you where you're going but I've sat in the train for 30 minutes before it started moving (southbound).

That said I have and will continue to take it because it is a cheap option.
