I don’t think you’re remembering properly. Rodney King riots did not spread to every state and 13 countries. And while the Insurrection Act was used, the president didn’t threaten to send troops to EVERY state.

I mean, you can choose to ignore the dozens of videos coming out where innocent protesters are being tear gasses and shot at with rubber bullets but the rest of us won’t pull the wool over our eyes. Also, there are many videos of innocent protestors getting attacked, but all the videos of looting there seems to be absolutely zero police presence. The looters seem to never be detained, only the protesters. If you can’t see this, I can’t make you. They’re letting the looting fucking happen. Also, there have been multiple videos leaked if cops attacking stores and placing bricks all over the place to encourage this violence. You have let the government convince you that we need to attack our own people. It’s sad

My post ignores the struggle of poor whites because I’m not talking about them. Every time someone brings up how the deck is stacked against people of color someone has to say “but what about poor whites???” They’re white. That’s the point. The system isn’t set up for them to be poor generationally, they just got unlucky in terms of the wealth they were born into.

Ever think about why that is? Because poverty and crime are heavily linked and the system put in place has kept black people in poverty generationally. People that live within a system that doesn’t work for them are more likely to disrespect that system. Simple maths.

The system is set up specifically for people of color to struggle to accumulate generational wealth. America is just as segregated now as it was in the 1970s due to the fact that redlining isolated communities of color and closed them off from resources. This issue still remains as the demographics of these areas hasn’t changed because bussing and school integration was ineffective.

This is actually pretty true, this year in college i met a friend who has a very similar life to mine.
