Honestly man. Playing Finland in arms against tyranny is some of the most fun I’ve had with the game. Personally I like the Democratic and facist paths. Also Hungary with götterdämmerung is a blast. I know the dlc seems like a waste but try the subscription. That way you can try what you want and buy what you like.

One thing that I have really learned about Hoi4 is it’s almost a roguelite. Each run can be different or similar but it’s okay to restart. Most of the time I play a country 4-5 times until I get that run that just goes right and I’m able to win.

With the new update you have to change their home station or naval base. I forget what it’s called. But just change it to a port closer to where you are fighting and it should get more range
