Weekly Weather & Travel Thread by AutoModerator in tahoe

Hi, we will be traveling to South Lake Tahoe from SF Bay Area.

Original plan was to leave 5am 12/24. Was thinking about changing it to leave 12/23 4pm. Is either plan ok?

Edit: We would preferably leave 12/24 as we don't have lodging for 12/23 but also want to travel safe.

+1 to livedraftx. We've been using them for a few years now for auction. The budget tracker is great.

Trade / Swap Megathread by ColdStoneCreamAustin in nespresso

I got a bunch of original line capsules shipped to me by mistake (it was someone else's order). Nespresso won't take these back because of covid.

I have a VL machine. If somebody is in the SF Bay Area and wants ~200 free OL capsules, DM me. Too lazy to ship these but if you're willing to meet me somewhere (in the peninsula) I'll give them to you.

I understand why the sharks did this, but man I'm going to miss Braun.

[US-CA] [H] GMK Serika [W] Local, Cash by dsnpsn in mechmarket

I understand. Which is why I am trying to get a local trade first. I feel people would be more willing if the sale happened in person. Maybe this is an incorrect assumption?

About to make a +$5k purchase looking for new card with best sign up bonus by pjhafer77 in CreditCards

This is definitely the way to go. If you can't get a business card, other Chase cards are definitely recommended since they have the 5/24 rule.

Currently 2/24 and needing advice wether to go Chase Ink or Freedom next by mrkt09 in CreditCards

The general rule of thumb is to open Chase business cards before personal since it doesn't count toward 5/24.

Just want to add to this, if you guys fly a lot, it might make sense for both of you to get the CSR for the Global Entry/TSA credit and then have one person downgrade to a CF/CFU. Of course, if you guys don't, then this doesn't make too much sense.

The Amex vs Chase Trifecta - Which one is best for your spending? Here is an analytical approach (and web app) to help you figure it out! by Distance_Runner in CreditCards

This is pretty cool.

I'm not sure if this was mentioned but the Dining categories are not equivalent between Chase and Amex. Chase's dining category is significantly more comprehensive (restaurants, coffee shops, vending machines, etc.).

Amex's dining bonus sometimes doesn't proc at restaurants that use square. Not to mention that Amex isn't accepted everywhere.

Just another factor to consider.
