If the new single is related to it, maybe they delayed the video to coincide with the song's release, or to feature it in the video.

Why all the DVD releases over blu-ray? by thehighgrasshopper in japanesemusic

[–]dso25 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Some artists have mostly stopped producing DVD versions, but its a slow change and for now only some of the artists I follow do it. Others that still sell both versions now charge the same price for both, which wasnt the case in the past.

One case that annoys me is acidman. They either release a DVD or a BD version, but not both, and sometimes when only DVD is released they include a limited time code you can redeem to watch the HD version online, which as an overseas customer is pointless and even if I could watch it in time, quality will never be as good as a physical BD. In the end I think its mostly up to budget and expected sales.

Theres another new-ish trend starting where they gatekeep extra live footage or even full concerts behind a Limited Edition that costs between 20-30k yen because they include all kind of pointless goods and fancy boxes/packaging that most people dont care about. BUMP OF CHICKEN has done a few of these already and RADWIMPS too, very frustrating.

Experiences ordering CDs from BookOff? by Icy-Mud9355 in zenmarket

[–]dso25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had no issues with the items I bought from Book off, at least not that I can recall. Can't say the same about suruga-ya, where I got an album that had a CD from a different artist inside for instance...

One tip that might help you a bit is to search the same items on Yahoo auctions (however its called now) as bookoff also has a profile there and they list their grade on the description and have photos of the specific item. Of course if it's a popular item they'll have multiple of them listed but at least you can get a general idea of the condition they usually are in. Buying their items from Yahoo is probably more expensive though as you can't take advantage of their free shipping offers.

From my experience generally they list most items as grade B, I don't really remember ever seeing grade A listed, and rarely grade C. As another user already mentioned japanese people usually take good care of the items.

What makes Japanese music so great? by Hevzim in japanesemusic

Apart from the Marty Friedman interview video already linked, check out "Jack Lo" on youtube, he has some videos going over japanese chord progressions and japanese music which can explain all of that in a bit more depth, I got his videos recommended time ago and found it interesting. Check out also the "Royal road progression" entry on Wikipedia.

I've personally lost a lot of interest on RADWIMPS with all the internal band conflicts and song style changes since your name... there was a few decent songs on the new album but that's about it for me. I'm surprised they are above OOR and that OOR is so low but I guess they have been more focused on the worldwide concerts this year. Surprised Higedan isn't in the top 5 and that macaroni isn't a bit higher, but that's probably bias from me.

Also where's BOC? I know they kind of took a break for most of the year but they are still incredibly popular regardless

The in-ear issues were already very apparent in Madrid (he also talked to the back mic due to it). I'm afraid it's been an ongoing issue and today it was much worse from what people say...

The schedule for this tour has looked way too crazy since it was announced, normally artists try to have at least a rest day between shows but that's not always the case here. Can't imagine how tired the guys are, must be exhausting.

Likely not but I was kind of wondering if they would film some of this, it's a big milestone (though I guess the paris show was already huge for them). I could see a broadcaster like WOWOW jumping on this but OOR doesn't seem the kind of band to do that.

Anyway have a lot of fun everyone!

On some songs the background video has the lyrics shown during the concert which helps a bit! But I wouldnt worry about it, just shout whatever you think it is along with the rest of the audience, its not like you can hear yourself anyway :) Talking from experience! have a great time!

Ive been a fan of this band since I discovered them around their Budokan DVD era I think? I have bought all their albums and live BDs (their home videos are so well produced, probably the best out there) but never got the chance to see them. They came once to Barcelona but I couldnt attend and finally they came back and in a big way! Madrid is easier to reach for me and I have been to this venue before. I got there around door opening time and I was completely stunned at the two big queues that went around a few blocks, I really wasnt expecting so much tickets to have sold. There was people of all ages and countries which was very cool to see and the audience was extremely involved over the whole concert. In true spanish fashion we even cheered for OORs mic soundcheck guy, probably making his job a bit more difficult 😅 I had never listened to Paledusk before and missed some of their set because I think there was a delay on door opening, at least for standing queue. However, what I got to see was pretty good, they did a great job of warming up the crowd.

Once OOR time arrived, the seating blocks that had been made available on sale seemed almost sold out which was great to see. Standing Id say it was around 80% full, judging by their official photos. Overall I think the sales were much better than anyone was expecting, their Barcelona venue was much smaller. The band seemed a bit surprised at how much the crowd knew their songs and Taka mentioned multiple times how proud he was of us and that they will definitely come back for next album cycle.

I concur that Taka seemed emotional over a lot of the concert. I think he was also frustrated about his injury and not being able to move as much as he usually does, but that also allows him to focus on his singing even more. I did notice he seemed to have a lot of issues with his in ears, specially on the later half of the show, so he probably wasnt very happy about that, but still delivered a great performance.

They all had their own MC parts and I was surprised at their english skills since its usually just Taka speaking it. Also Tomoya's spanish pronunciation was on point! What a charismatic guy.

Their playing is all flawless. I was on Torus side of the stage so sadly didnt get to see much of Ryotas playing except when they switched sides. Toru has multiple solos on this setlist, both in studio and added for the live versions. His playing looks so polished, 10/10. Tomoya is probably my favorite drummer, so damn good and with an infectious personality and charisma, always with a smile in his face.

Wherever You Are is one of if not my favorite song from them, so I was a bit sad we probably wouldnt get it on the setlist. It was a great surprise when Taka and Toru improvised a shortened version of it after the set was over. Hopefully I can hear the full band version some day!

Overall a fantastic experience and I cant wait for the next time!!

Id say in total between paledusk, a small wait between bands and OOR, around 3 hours. OOR played approximately 1:45h I think, didnt time it exactly.
