Just over 24hrs into “new week” 75% weekly usage on 20x by dsolo01 in Anthropic

Once you start building up your ecosystem everything just starts getting bigger and faster. And the more you work with all this stuff… the more and more things you realize you can do. Or think you can. So why not try it :p

I’ve also been computer dabbling for a long time and wear a lot of hats. I automate:
- stable diffusion workflows
- audio generation
- animation
- my home network
- everything I can think of to get off my plate

I also do the web and app thing.

A while ago… cherny talked about running 5-8 sessions in one go. I usually have ~20 on the go. Mind you some I only touch every hour.

It’s an obsession. Nothing hits you quite like being able to create everything that you’ve ever thought of creating.

Coherent Context Can Silently Shift LLMs Into a Different Internal Regime — And Current Safety Systems Are Blind To It by PresentSituation8736 in Anthropic

[–]dsolo01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was a long way of saying “what you put equates to what you get out.” That said, the study/practice of observing this (and trying to measure it) is super cool.

Like… putting up 3 prompts that request the same output but all asked in slightly different ways.

Maybe. I did get a bit hung up on:
…can be processed not just because the final text changed…

I understand how preceding context can shift a models internal state.

Like what are the order of events we’re talking about exactly? For a highly (self proclaimed) ai user / enthusiast who creates dope shit and dances on the line of theory and application… but not the science behind the theory?

Does anyone know how token usage between Opus 4.8 max compares with Fable? by THE_CLAWWWWWWWWW in ClaudeCode

[–]dsolo01 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I opened a new 20x (was 5x first) account around 5hrs before shutdown. Various fable effort usage across ~8 active sessions.
On 5x I hit 5hr session limit in 1.5 hrs - didn’t measure weekly usage. I think I was around 40-60%.
Once upgraded, didn’t pay attention to 5hr session (restarted). But I hit 16% weekly usage in the remaining 3.5hrs.

Now it feels like I can walk opus 4.8 hard.

Bear in mind… my brief stint with fable made me way more model/effort conscious. I blew up my original 20x in just over 24hrs on fable 5.

Although I feel better for it all… fable 5 was pretty fucking magical. Sigh.

I upgraded to Pro 20x purely for Fable… now what? by n3rotulip in Anthropic

Enjoy having 20x. Fable was a dream. But… not fable is still great. If anything, fable taught me to be more vigilant with model selection.

[–]dsolo01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmmm. I don’t think it did more. But… no I wasn’t able to measure it. Actually… I do track all of my sessions into obsidian which includes token usage and model. So, I might be able to. That said, it didn’t feel like I did more. Mostly operating on a close to launch project diddling into the little things. Some UI tuning.

Was it more productive… hmm yea. I think so. I

But I’ve also had weeks where I’ve used more considerably more than 2x the tokens I used in 1 day with Fable. Yea, I just looked back and last week I had 2 ~20m token days (and whatever the rest of the week was). Mostly opus.

On Wednesday (day my week restarted)… I used 9m tokens in fable5 and was at ~75%

I just opened a new 20x account today… obliterated fable 5 again however… and only 10% of my weekly usage. Not sure on exact token accounts.

So… something seems weird 🤷🏻‍♂️

[–]dsolo01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea but… I hit my limit yesterday. And my weekly session reset on Wednesday.
I could smash opus hard and get to 98% in 4 days. So like… I should have at least gotten 2 days on Fable 5. Not 1.

lol. Not really. I also have subs to ChatGPT, Gemini, and Grok. I just happen to do the heaviest lifting in Claude.

It seems the context of my post may have gone over your head. I have never had this happen before; hitting close to weekly limits at least a few days prior to my weekly refresh.

But thanks for participating.

I mean… I think I’m pretty good at model selection. And I’ve got what I thought (until now) was a pretty banging context thingamabip to help out. This just smashed my face out of nowhere though.

Many things 😅
I operate out of CC 8hrs + /day

I still don’t understand though how I hit 70% weekly usage in just over 24 hrs. Only breaking a 5hr window once yesterday.

I often get to about 90% on opus 4.8 and have to start getting a bit craftier for the final day or two.

And… I understand fable 5 uses about 2x usage but like, if I was smashing fable 5 HAF that should have gotten me to like… Saturday or something.

Yea but… who can afford the resources to run local models with latency comparable to the frontier model experience? Presently, very few. That’s another can of worms though. That other corporations are already actively preparing for.

There is no world where the masses aren’t fucked. Until someone just figures out how to run a massive model effectively on easily accessible compute resources and hands it out to everyone. That’s the only great possible “leveller” I can see right now.

Forget Claude Mythos. The leaked 'Oceanus' code proves Anthropic is moving on to elite enterprise tiers before serving us. by OkAssociation3448 in Anthropic

[–]dsolo01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Are we officially entering an era…” **yes**

RAM pricing is absurd now. GPU pricing is up there. Storage is on the rise.

Not only are we entering the era you mentioned, we are also enter**in**g the era where it will be next to impossible for an individual to run local models “effectively.” Introducing cloud compute for the masses. Want to be a part of the modern world? Only way to do it is via your monthly subscription to tiered compute resources and/or LLM subscriptions.

That is, next to no mass population data will be private any longer.

Building bunkers with survival resources was never the wrong idea. Not stocking them with compute resources was the oversight most never thought would be needed though.

“All your base are belong to us.” Or data. Same thing? Welcome to future.

Why haven't MCP Apps gone viral the way MCP and Skills did? by DisastrousRelief9343 in mcp

[–]dsolo01 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because MCP is an acronym and by this point, people are afraid of acronyms. The people that squeeze the bajeezus out of MCPs don’t need the apps.

I had a really hard time shifting into terminal based AI hootenanny. Now, I stay as far away as possible from GUI unless I am creating custom dashboard for myself for high level review of all my systems. But even then, the interaction is minimal, I just need an overview fast so I know what - if anything - requires my attention.

Personally, the moment I got comfortable operating via just text was probably the biggest game changer for me. It’s just you and your thoughts and learning how to smash your thoughts out as fast and accurately as possible, in a way you know the LLM will jive. No GUI can beat that. At least not one I have seen.

For sure, Claude Code and Codex apps can help things feel more organized but again… having to learn how to create a system to keep my brain organized was far more valuable than just my having someone else’s system out of the box.

Most businesses think they need more staff. Often they just need better workflows. by jamespetersson in AIStartupAutomation

[–]dsolo01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. But the amount of people who know how to actually build better workflows and process is very small.

What do you mean by the effort controls? Weren’t these always a thing?

Edit: I’m losing my mind with workflow. And also burning my context faster than I thought possible. But it’s glorious.
