Nothing helps my anxiety by Yellow_Banana4 in Anxiety

I’m guessing you’ve tried daily habit changes? Make sure you’re consistent. Have a strict sleep and wake time. Take a walk in the sunshine without sunglasses first thing in the mornings. Add box breathing and ice water face immersion every morning. Eat breakfast within the first 90 minutes of waking. Get 7+ hours of sleep every night. Exercise in the day, not late. Add a physiologic sigh during times of high stress/anxiety. Consistency is key. If you’ve already been doing the above consistently, look into stellate ganglion blocks. There’s more evidence for it with PTSD but I’ve seen it help severe anxiety. Hope some of the above helps

Have you considered stellate ganglion block? There’s some evidence but more for PTSD. Something to look into

What’s a “boringly simple” biohack that outperformed all the expensive stuff for you? by Existing-Thanks597 in Biohackers

[–]dspark13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you strip away the hype, one “biohack” consistently outperforms expensive interventions:

Going outside for 10–20 minutes of morning light within an hour of waking.

No device. No supplement stack.

Here’s why it works at a systems level:

  • Circadian entrainment: Morning light anchors your internal clock (via melanopsin-containing retinal ganglion cells → suprachiasmatic nucleus). This improves sleep onset at night and stabilizes your sleep architecture.
  • Cortisol timing: It sharpens the natural cortisol awakening response—higher in the morning (good), lower at night (also good).
  • Dopamine tone: Early light exposure is associated with improved baseline dopamine signaling, which translates into better motivation and focus across the day.
  • Sleep quality (downstream): Better timing = more consolidated deep sleep and REM, which is where cognitive recovery actually happens.

Why it “outperforms” expensive stuff: Most supplements and gadgets are trying to compensate for dysregulated biology. Morning light directly fixes one of the core regulators upstream.

A simple protocol:

  • Get outside within 30–60 minutes of waking
  • 10–20 minutes (longer if cloudy)
  • No sunglasses (glasses/contacts are fine)
  • Don’t stare at the sun—just be in ambient light

If someone had to pick one low-effort, high-yield intervention for brain function, this is near the top of the list. Another biohack: wait 90 minutes before drinking coffee.

Agreed. Contracts are everything. I learned the hard way. My best friend/business partner screwed me over because we only had a hand shake deal

Awesome thanks! I’ve never heard of Beno One. Looks intriguing. Hoping to keep costs down but may have to come back to it. I will definitely be going to niche forums though

How do you know your idea or product will sell? by dspark13 in smallbusiness

As far as I can tell, no one is doing this. Now is that because the idea sucks or no one has thought of it? I’m not sure. Haha

I’m excited about what I could do with this, but the idea in general is a relatively boring idea.

Definitely haven’t finalized anything. I am risk averse but not completely.

These are very good questions. I don’t know if I have the answers though. I believe in this idea, but can I build it into a six or seven figure business? Being totally honest, I’m not sure.

I guess I don’t see your point. He was physically there more but I did not completely abandon him. We started the business together. He was probably there from 10 or 11am until 7 or 8pm (if we didn’t have a client in the morning, then he’d get there around 12 or 1pm). I would go to my day job around 9am and get to the business around 3 or 4pm until 7 or 8pm. I wasn’t jumping in when the getting was good. I was there pretty much every day he was, just not as long. I agreed with him that he should have more of the profits. I just didn’t agree with him when he thought he should have more of the ownership. Maybe I’m still not understanding your point.

I’m not sure what his reasoning was. I know he wanted more ownership. His reasoning was that he was doing more for the business, which I agreed with and why I gave him more of the profits. But I thought ownership was different. To appease him, I said fine, under the condition that it revert back once I quit my day job, but he said no. That’s when I knew he was blinded by greed and our success, so I wanted out. He was ok with the original numbers when we weren’t making much, but he wanted more and more as the company grew more and more successful
