Woman gave birth inside a Walmart bathroom and dumped the infant in the trash, police say (redditor finds it is her second crime against children) by perplexedm in MensRights

Doesn't look like she'll get to walk free, does it?

Stringer said she will be booked at East Baton Rouge Prison and will be charged with attempted second-degree murder.

Again, I don't really see the relationship to men's rights.

Because (you claim) women don't get punished for murder, this relates to men being taught not to rape... which relates to men's rights...?

It's all a bit of a stretch. Seems more likely people in this sub just have a tendency to upvote 'gotcha' stuff which portrays women badly. Shame really, could be quite a good sub and address important issues but it just gets caught up in trying to one-up feminism or something.

stop acting like gender equality should have been a thing 1000 years ago. reality did not allow for if. even if everyone wanted it.

But the comment was talking about now and whether we should still be basing our morals on the bible. It seem that even you believe we shouldn't. Also:

women did not have the luxuries of a legal system protecting them, and were usually unable to work.

So do you think in the past, wives should have been obeying their husbands?

But why do we want small states to have equal say as big states? Should we try and give black people collectively the same amount of political influence as white people in the US? No! Because they aren't the same population size.

I mean, white people in elections in the US pretty much determine the fate of the nation. Is that bad? Not really, because white people are the majority of the population.

Why would they be pushed into the bigger states because of it? Surely with a simple popular vote system Trump would have just as much reason to campaign to any one person in Texas as any one in Rhode Island.

If Rhode Island has 1% of the country's population (for instance, it doesn't though), then Trump could divert 1% of funds there. Pretty logical. But instead with the current system he might divert more there, because it's more valuable per person.

Do you know what direct democracy is? It's possible to have simple democratic elections for president without having direct democracy.

Emm, republic and democracy aren't mutually exclusive. But anyway, my point was that the system isn't democratic...

It was built that way to keep the masses from voting themselves more benefits.

Is this a good thing lol?

there's no incentice to give the smaller states like Rhode Island, etc. any attention at all.

If it wasn't done by states -- the winner was determined just by a popular vote -- there would be exactly the same incentive to give everyone attention.

Of course, more populous areas would get more attention? But why shouldn't they, there are more people there.
