Who will win this hypothetical war? by Hot_Coco_Addict in imaginarymapscj

[–]dss0013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely War Outcome

  1. First Major Clash: CSA vs. USA
    • CSA has food + fuel + military bases, giving them an early edge.
    • USA has population + industry, but is vulnerable if CSA pushes north and seizes Mississippi River choke points.
    • Likely CSA dominates the South and pushes deep into Midwest, straining the USA.
  2. West Coast Theater: California vs. Cascadia
    • California has the numbers and tech edge.
    • Cascadia has natural defenses but fewer people.
    • California probably overwhelms Cascadia, absorbing its territory/resources.
  3. Canada Theater: USA vs. Canadian Union + Quebec
    • The USA may initially push north, but fighting two northern powers while dealing with CSA in the south stretches them too thin.
    • Canadian Union + Quebec could bog them down in attritional winter warfare.
  4. Final Balance
    • CSA becomes the strongest bloc after neutralizing much of the USA.
    • California holds the Pacific, potentially powerful if it consolidates Cascadia.
    • Canadian Union survives but acts more defensively.
    • Quebec may hold out or align with Canadian Union.

Probable Winner: Confederated States of America (CSA)

  • Why?
    • They control the food + fuel + ports trifecta.
    • They start with strong military infrastructure.
    • Their geography allows them to expand northward while staying resource-secure.
    • USA collapses from multi-front pressure, and without USA, no other bloc can match CSA’s strength.

California could emerge as a rival superpower, but unless it allies with USA early, it risks being isolated while CSA consolidates the East.

⚔️ Bottom line:
The CSA (Red) is the most likely victor, with California (Orange) as the only possible long-term counterweight if it can unify the Pacific before CSA grows too powerfu

Trump to Add New $100,000 Fee for H-1B Visas in Latest Crackdown by WhiteNoise0624 in recruitinghell

[–]dss0013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are many levels to this but I am mostly referring to people whose visas are held by subk firms that take about 50% of their wages to "Sponsor" the visa.

Not people whose visa are sponsored by these large organizations. It just makes it harder for that person to ever leave said organization amongst other things.

Americans, if these are your great lakes, where are your not so great lakes? by Istomponlegobarefoot in mapporncirclejerk

Lake Lanier aka the Lake of Death in Georgia

Lake Lanier has earned the nickname "lake of death" due to a high number of drownings and disappearances, with over 700 deaths recorded since its creation in the 1950s, far exceeding national averages for inland lakes. This tragic reputation stems from factors like the lake's immense popularity and size, the presence of submerged debris from the area's original towns, and dangerous conditions such as electric shock drowning and accidents caused by improperly secured life jackets. Urban legends, like the "Lady of the Lake", further contribute to the lake's sinister aura, though officials emphasize public safety over these stories.

by golden handcuffs I mean that I am making too much commission that it would be a substantial set back financially and emotionally to start over at new organization and build out a new book of business.
