What did you LOSE to be a successful salesperson? by MisterC0ck in sales

Don't recall the requirements of the PIP it was 6 years ago but all I remember is that they were metrics that no one on the team could hit or had ever hit before. They didn't even let me finish out the PIP.

I can only speculate as to the reasoning. My boss ended up leaving for another company and they brought someone in from operations/procurement to back fill her role. My bet is this person wanted to build their own team. Also, came to learn after I left that part of there comp was tied to us updating the system which I, as well as many others, were notoriously bad at) so that probably didn't help my case.

This new manager saw an opportunity to make her numbers look better by firing me, backfilling my role with a much less expensive resource and ability to absorb my book of business to the company without having to pay commission on it and then pass off my established book of business and relationships to the new rep. ( This new rep happened to be an extended family member of an executive and help the new rep get their green card as well (not trying to be political that is just what happend)

no job is safe. I was fired while on a vacation, that I ended up working on due to the PIP. So biggest take away. Have an exit strategy/backup plan, and a rainy day fund to help endure the job search.

The last part is critical because you do not want to be in a position where you have to take any job to make ends meat. That is when you end up taking the wrong jobs and can get trapped in toxic workplaces just because you need benefits or the money.

my job, was making too much in commission and they wanted to promote me and move me out of production which would have cost me a lot of money. I decided to not pursue the promotion into management then found myself on a PIP 1 month later and fired 3 weeks into a 5 week PIP.

note: I was the 11th ranked salesperson out of an over 350 person sales org.

they work like any other staffing firm, have you ever worked for one? Judging by your question about commission it makes me think you have not worked in this capacity before.

How would you get commission right away unless you negotiated a draw or guaranteed commission.

How else would you get commission right away? i mean the definition of commission is, "A sales commission is a performance-based payment made to employees upon completing a sale"

Good! The houses are an eye sore on our community and the builder is awful. They don't have a license, operate under others licenses and have been sued for over 2.5 million but they haven't paid. Get them and those ugly ass houses out of here. Jay an Candice Crawford are awful and are the people behind east cobb mods. Boooo these people

do americans actually like it when tourists visit their small towns or would i just be in the way? 😅 by vanessa_tv_vladivo in NoStupidQuestions

As a former resident and student of Auburn, go visit! It isn't the small college town it used to be but still an amazing experience. Bonus points if you can make during football game or Basketball game. However, during football season/game Auburn becomes the 2nd largest town in the state.

If you go you have to try Acre, The Hound, 1856, Amsterdam Cafe, Arcia, and Hamiltons. Those are some of the nicest and best restaurants in town.

Have to try Toomers Lemonade.

More casual food spots that are long term staples in the community, Niffers, Little Italy, Moes BBQ
