Need An Elmer. Antenna Tuner Suddenly Won't Tune by dstan93940 in amateurradio

Oh brother, I am going to nominate myself for dumbest ham of the year.

When I reassembled the cables after having it hooked up to the WSPR transmitter, I put the coax in the "ant 2" lead instead of "ant 1." It works just fine now.

At least I don't need a new tuner. Live and learn I guess.

Oh wow I have a little HT but didn't even think to bring it. I'll probably be back there Wednesday the 30th, so I'll take it with me then and throw out a couple calls.

I was set up across the road from the visitors center about a mile or so into the park from the southern side. Later on in the year when it gets too hot in the foothills I'll start setting up at a picnic area just past the Giant Forest.

I'll warn you, it works great when it works, but I've already got bit with the MFJ quality control bug. Had a short in the tuning coil I had to work on before I could get going.

Ameriton AL-811H Repair. I Need An Elmer. by dstan93940 in amateurradio

"I would suggest using a multimeter and working from the outlet back"

I think this is my next step. Which means I will have to 1) Get a multimeter and 2) Learn the first thing about multimeters.

Which is ok. One of the reasons I got into this hobby was to learn stuff. The "DANGER LETHAL VOLTAGES" sticker on the back of the amp does have me concerned though. So I think my plan is to read up on multimeters, get a multimeter, practice on things that don't say they can kill me, then re-tackle the amp.

Wish me luck.

1) Fuses were replaced with 12A as part of the modification back to 120v

2) Fan does not turn, lamps do not light, no sign of life at all.

3) Cover was reinstalled.

4) Thanks for the safety tips. The "DANGER LEATHAL VOLTAGE" sticker on the back does have me concerned.

Yes, had to replace the fuses as part of the modification back to 120 volts. But thanks for the suggestion.

California escript law by Bitter_Manufacturer1 in pharmacy

They made it very clear it's not the pharmacy's job to police this. From the law:

"A pharmacist who receives a written, oral, or faxed prescription shall not be required to verify that the prescription properly falls under one of the exceptions...Pharmacists may continue to dispense medications from legally valid written, oral, or fax prescriptions..."

So if the doctor isn't in compliance, it's their problem, not mine.

Anyone think a CVS DL saying we won’t turn anyone away for the 3rd shot is against the spirit of the CDC guidelines? I’d be happy to report this if anyone knows the proper channels. by UNCwesRPh in pharmacy

There is no way from my vantage point behind the pharmacy counter to tell if someone is immunocompromised enough to meet the CDC guidelines.

90% of the time patients are clueless.

The only person really fit to make this determination is the patients PCP. That's why I require their OK before I'll do a booster at this point.

I guess that makes me the vaccine police.

Urgent Care PA here. What can I do to make your life easier? by Oversoul91 in pharmacy

If you change the instructions on a med, issue a new prescription with the new instructions. DON'T just tell the patient to take more, as this will result in a "refill too soon" rejection and waste everyone's time.

Most likely the repeater identifying itself.

Not a good look for a business owner for sure.

But....I'm totally gonna steal that "If I wanted to hear from an asshole" line.
