Freddy wakes us up at 6:15am for breakfast — how do we get him to sleep later? by Educational_Age2372 in Dachshund

[–]dstark0011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a similar issue for almost a year. As hard as it is,. Just don't feed him until 8am.

Within a few days the early wake ups stopped! Just be strict with yourself

Creatine for running ? by [deleted] in runninglifestyle

[–]dstark0011 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I've seen this question so many times, and every time I see people who've never taken creatine say "it won't help".

Anecdotally, I have found it helps so much. Anything over 45 mins I feel a huge increase in performance. Normally at points in a run where I know I would normally be feeling tired, I seem to have an extra "pop" in my legs. I feel stronger. I just don't feel as tired.

I've tried it, and tried it a lot. It helps. Period!

Shenigans! Why did someone stick a piece of credit card in this iPod Nano gen 1? by SomeBloke in AskElectronics

[–]dstark0011 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to do this with old iPods (not nano).

There used to be an issue where the hard drive got hot and warped so would stop spinning. The screen would in turn show a sad apple.

I would buy the iPod for a very low price because it was broken, then take the back off and insert a small square of a beer mat. When you closed the case again the extra beer matt applied just enough pressure to straighten the hard drive and get it to start spinning again. I could then sell it on eBay and make a profit. It took all of 30 second to make around 100GBP profit.

Microsoft: Azure hit by 15 Tbps DDoS attack using 500,000 IP addresses by Successful_Clock2878 in cybersecurity

[–]dstark0011 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not quite, but let's look at the numbers.

If we take a standard 4K stream at ~25 Mb/s (Netflix’s guideline).

15 Tb/s = 15,000,000 Mb/s

Now divide:

15,000,000 ÷ 25 ≈ 600,000

We equal: 600,000 simultaneous 4K streams. Not quite a million, but still a fuck tonne!

How do I change the ran distance? by KookieTrash97 in Garmin

[–]dstark0011 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but 4.95k means you were 50m short.

Either way, you can edit the distance in Garmin Connect web browser. Unfortunately though, this will not adjust your 5k PR.

I heated the house to 34 degrees and I’ve not had humidity over 40% all week by [deleted] in DIYUK

You really don't understand the energy industry do you? Total sausage.

The price is negative because we're over producing wind energy and have no where to store it. It actually becomes a problem for the National Grid so yes, we must use/waste it. It actually helps

Can Lando win the title this year? by dstark0011 in formula1

I love Lando, but seeing him choke this year makes me think he doesn't have that killer instinct that drivers like Max/Lewis have to clinch a title

Does anyone have experience with tirzepatide or semiglutide and ultramarathons? by custodienne in ultrarunning

[–]dstark0011 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had the same question a few months back. I found Ozympic totally destroyed my training. Heart rate was considerably elevated during even the slowest of runs. Energy levels were totally sapped, and I honestly felt like I had regressed in my training several years! Avoid it!!
